Looking at purchasing a Total Makeover Kit. I noticed it does not mention the base armor colors each character starts with, and takes with them throughout the leveling experience (for instance I have a ranger whom I didn’t change the base armor colors on, and every new piece of armor I get is now browns, golds, and yellows). Is there a purchase option that is able to change these “Base” armor colors we start out with, and carry with us? I’d love to go back and change them if possible.

Every character created gets a set of 21 “Starter Dyes”. I believe the ‘base’ color of your starter armors are from that pool.

Just check it out in your Hero panel under the Dye tab.

Yes, you have more than the base colors available. Even if a new piece of gear uses your initial choices, it’s the work of moments to open your dyes tab and select new colors to suit your current taste.

Don’t even worry about your base set choices. They’re irrelevant given the flexible and free dye system (though you will have to pay for new colors beyond the starter set, via the TP or gem store dye packs or getting Chef up to a level to make dyes). Any dye you learn will be available to all your alts on the account forever.

It looks like he/she is a new player.

OP you can buy more dyes form the TP for a few silver (common) to several gold (rare). Open BLTP (press “o”) and search for “dye” and you can have your pick of colors.

To change colors open the Hero panel and look for an options that says “dye” then you can pick the color of your armor, you get a few free colors and can buy the rest with ingame money.

Thank you for responding, been playing about a week, taking a break from EVE online. I had looked into using the starter dyes, what threw me off was the Transmutation Charge window that popped up….I had not noticed the fine print that stated “These changes will cost 0 transmutation charges.” Thank you everyone for the responses, cheers.
