hello all,

since I am working on getting myself Twilight, I have been watching the price of dusk, which is behaving pretty strange.
I keep a close eye on the price since I am a WvW player and thus I pretty much have no money at all;
anyway, back to the topic of the precursor prices:
how is it possible the price is always the same?

I have seen Dusk price at 570g with 12 Dusks in supply (total supply that is), after which I saw the price of Dusk a couple of days later, gone up to 620g again with a supply of 20. (ofcourse the supply etc changes depending on times of day and day of the week);
is there anyone that can explain how the price of the precursor (I only named Dusk, but it happens to alot of precursors) changes like that, other than a group of people manipulating the price?

Guild Leader Varangian Guard [VG]

Items with low demand and low supply are more vulnerable to price fluctuations. Also, these items generally have a larger price spread among buy orders. So even one item being bought may end up rising the price by several dozen gold.

A lot of transactions could have happened between those few days to end up with a higher price and higher supply.

Its easy, did you for instance check the second price on Dusk? If someone bought Dusk for 570 before someone else put up additional Dusks for sale to match the second price (as an example).

Also 570g +15% (sale/listing fee) is 655, if someone has Dusk for sale at 655 he has two options, pull his off the market and lose the listing fee etc or buy the Dusk for 570 and bet on that he will be able to sell it to recoup the cost.

Anyway nothing strange here, that said with the inflation the precursors will eventually sell so its a good market to bet on if one doesnt mind waiting and assuming the precursors wont increase in volume.
