Guild Wars 2

So I ended up binding my gas mask skin to a heavy helm instead of a medium. If I bought and used a transmutation splitter, would the skin item thing it gives me back still be bound to heavy armor or would I be able to transmute it to a medium? I know it doesn’t give you back an actual skin item which worries me that I just ruined my plan for my engie’s outfit.
