I can’t Buy or sell stuff at the Black Lion trading company. What do I do?

I have the same problem, Im standing at the trader npc’s but still it wont let me buy/sell items or bid. please help

Have you tried relogging?

90% of TP issues can be solved by coming out of GW2 entirely and logging back in again.

I can search items, but cannot view the items stats.
I cannot buy or place order on items.
No error messages. Just the buttons buy and place order are grey as not available.

I have the same problem and I’ve had it many times before.
The “Buy” button is greyed out. This is true whether I use Buy Now or Place a Custom Offer.

This happened to me once but logging out and back in fixed. Unsure if that’s helpful at all, though.

If logging out doesn’t work you can delete the cache! Press start and either search or run % TEMP % (with no spaces between % and TEMP) and delete the folder that starts with gw2! Works every time for me.

That looks like an important thing, and i dont want to mess up my gw

This happens to me ALL the time.
1. I can view and search items for sale and the Gem store.
2. I can collect items that are waiting for pick-up in the store.
3. I cannot actually purchase anything from the store, no matter what the conditions. The “buy” button is grayed out, even if I have plenty of money, am offering plenty for it, etc. It is in no way user error.
4. I cannot sell anything of mine. If I go to the “sell” pane, instead of showing the proper interface, the little “loading” circle spins for maybe 10-20 seconds and then the pane goes blank and stays that way for the rest of the session. I can still go to other panes, but any time I return to the “sell” pane it remains blank.

These symptoms occur almost every time I load up the client for the first time of the day. I also get all these symptoms at once when this problem occurs, so they seem to be connected. It may have something to do with switching between multiple characters in short order. Switching characters does nothing to fix this, but exiting the client completely and reloading it does seem to clear up the problem for the second session of the day, but after some period of time it will reoccur.

As other players have already said if you can’t buy from the TP the odds are you are experiencing a common bug that seems to have something to do with the way ANet handles the TP and Gem shop. Closing the game (going to character select is not enough) and restarting it has always fixed the bug for me, and everyone else that I know who has had the same problem.

Another symptom of the same bug is your gem amount will be displayed as … (blue gem) instead of a number (blue gem).

I believe the problem is with the “awesomiumprocess.exe” which GW2 and other games like DDO/LOTRO use as part of their in game browser / cash shop. The program is probably either being blocked by windows or third party firewall the first time the game is run or perhaps it just isn’t syncing up correctly. I’ve tried killing the process to see what happens and as suspected the shop / tp will not work without it. Closing the active TP/shop window will restart the process and allow you to browse again, but it will not allow you to buy anything. To resolve that you still need to close the game and restart it. Perhaps this will help ANet sort it out.

Since late last night GMT, I could no longer view the buy and sell tab of the Trading Post. Gem Store, Exchange and Pick Up shows and works, but the other two tabs are completely blank with that loading circle spinning endlessly in the middle.
It usually fixes itself if I exit the game and runs it as admin, but not this time.

Other times, it happens that I can search for an item and is shown the list, but I cannot click on anything because that circle is spinning around in front of the list. I have to go to the front page of the Trading Post and click on the item (if it is in any of the demand/supplied lists), go to it through my Item I have Bought-tab, or by clicking Buy More from my bank.

Bumping this. The last 2 days I have been unable to buy, sell, or view my transactions. The others tabs work just fine. Restarting the game does not alleviate the problem.

Restarting the game solves it sometimes, not always…

There are a couple of potential issues that can disable the TP for some players. The easiest solutions are (in order):

1. Ensure you are running GW2 with admin privileges.
2. Restart GW2
3. Close GW2, clear your cache, and restart (as noted above, navigate to % temp %, without the spaces, and delete the GW2 folder)
4. Configure your anti-malware software to allow “awesomium_process.exe” to run. (That’s the software that actually connects the game to the TP database.)
5. Restart your router.
6. Make sure your software/hardware firewalls aren’t blocking GW2, specific websites, or the process above.

The second (restarting GW2) resolves TP issues for most people; the first (running GW2 w/admin rights) prevents issues for a substantial number of people. I’ve only spoken to a few people who have to worry about any of the other potential work-arounds.

If none of the above works, contact support. They apparently are really good at tracking down the root cause and getting it resolved.

This exactly. I rarely use the TP simply because of this bug, very frustrating.

i can`t sell anything in black lions tradingcompany! i loose a lot of silver/gold on selling it to merchant. please help! and i cant buy anything to, the button only grays out. HELP!

This. Its been a problem for a while now. Only way to fix it is by relogging completely sometimes several times. Hitting the sell tab first when loading up the tp also seems to help load the page correctly.

Ive had this problem for a long time and made a thread about it if your issues are as follows

1. on gem store in the upper left where the gem icon and amount show. this box will be empty

2. on trading post in buy screen buy button greyed out

3. on trading post on item lists no popup

4. on sell items screen screen completely blank

I used to solve it by closing and restarting the game over and over till it worked but someone suggested a different solution that seems to work in my thread

Try to open “Options” window with TP window still open, and change your game language – for example English ? French, wait for TP to reload, and back to your original language.

This method works for the one who posted it and myself as well so give it a try.

Same problem, quitting game and trying again solves sometimes…

Also if you try to type in the chat box while TP is up, the buttons will grey out or you can’t type values into boxes. You have to open up tp again. Had this happen many times and I was casting spells on my ele instead of typing values or typing on chat instead of typing in search.

So it could be this or the other problem which you must close completely.

The black lion trading post is suffering from severe bugs.

Normally I have to restart my game 5 times so I can see stats when I hover over a item and/or before i can buy/sell. But since today everything works fine except that I can’t search for items when i want to buy. The <item name> input box and search button are greyed out. this happens in the field as in towns as when talking to a black lion trading post npc. I have tried to restart the game 10 times, did a repair on the client and nothing seem to work. My friends and guild members don’t have this problem.

Please help me fix my black lion trading post as I don’t want to search over 15 pages of coats, daggers, boots, crafting materials etc in the hope the one I am searching for is there.

My TP’s problem is currently:

= Unable to sell items
= Able to see the opening page of the TP, but some items do not have pictures
= Unable to search/purchase items (blank)

Considering it worked just two days ago, what the heck changed overnight?

I have been having a problem lately where I can’t browse the Gem Store. I can open up the main page, and even make purchases from there, but if I try clicking on the individual categories (Minis, Style etc.), or click the Browse All button beneath the Hot Items, nothing happens. Anyone else getting a similar error?

The Trading Post is working normally and I can post and buy items normally.
