Hi, all along I’ve noticed that there are some white items that are selling for multiple gold.

Unfortunately we don’t have stats for items traded / successful sales, so I have no idea if people actually buy these items or if they’re just some wishful thinking on the part of someone.

Anyone care to let me in on the secret?

Some theories:
- They are part of some high-end mystic forge recipe or something.
- They are a mechanism for gold sellers to transfer gold to people.
- Someone decided to list them at a crazy price just in case, and some other people saw the price and decided to follow suit.

It’s a way for gold-sellers to make transactions with buyers.

The gold-sellers send an item that has no listings on the TP to a buyer. The buyer lists the item, the gold-sellers buy it.

Or so I heard.

Doesn’t the TP work on a LIFO method? If so, it might be possible for somebody to spot the new entry and quickly post a matching item for the same price -1c to nab the gold before the buyer gets it.

I guess the gold seller needs to make sure there is only 1 person selling that item. If there are multiple, then they have to switch to a different item.

if they are really doing that, it would be really easy for someone to make hundreds of gold just buying all those whites and selling them back at a slightly lower price.

hehe, 9 items came from me. And in my case I can say it is point 3 you mentioned. Unfortunately at this time no one ever bought them… But it was just a test to see if someone still doing such crazy buyings^^

the person who put the item up for that much lost 5g doing so…

I found that hammer from loot yesterday…will put it up for half the price of maximum shown atm :P
