Whenever you enter an item into the Black Lion Trading post, 100% of the time if you press enter on an item that is autocompleted you have to completely exit the window or change tabs to be able to enter a new one. Otherwise, even though you’ve cleared the box, the letters you type aren’t registered as going into the text box.
50% of the time, if you completely type the word yourself, this happens. Very very irritating to try and check prices when every time I search for something I have to reload the window to search.

I’m not sure why this wouldn’t be a game bug, but okay. Is anyone else having this issue?

Wondering if I can get some confirmation that it isn’t only my client that does this.

for me, when I sell stuff on the TP:
the left side of the window has a list of everything I can sell
the right has the sale screen
after you press ‘sell’, I just click on the next item in the list
if it goes to the end of the page (by not selling some items), I find I have to press ‘ok’ to close the right side of the screen, then click on the top item in the next page of items.
it’s not ideal, but I don’t have to close the window like you describe.

Unless they fixed it recently, autocomplete on the TP doesn’t work. Assuming it hasn’t been fixed yet (honestly it’s been at least a month since I tried it) you’re stuck typing in the name yourself. A little annoying, but you get used to it.

As for issues when typing out the entire name yourself, the only issue I’ve personally encountered is if you search while on a bid page. If you click “go back to results” before searching for a new item, you shouldn’t have an issue.

I’m not certain if these two bugs cover the issues you’re describing. If not, it’s worth noting that I believe the TP actually uses your computer’s default web browser to display. Which browser do you use, and is it up to date? You could be experiencing an issue with that.

OP What key do you have bound to start chatting? Is it ‘Enter’?
I bound my start chatting key to ‘T’ and sometimes when I type in the search box of the TP and I hit the ‘T’ it forgets that I am typing in the TP search and I’m suddenly typing into chat. Closing that chat windows and then clicking back on the TP search it refuses to re-activate it as the active field. I need to completely close the TP and start over.
Also, I have my ‘Reply to a PM’ button as my ‘Backspace’ key, while typing in the TP search box if I typo and hit backspace then it opens the chat reply to someone I messaged.

For me, the TP seems to have an issue with recognizing key presses for typing and mistakenly translates them to their bound functions instead of as letters.
So many times I will be typing in the TP search and suddenly I’m running nonstop into a wall or into an enemy or off a cliff since ‘R’ was default to constant run I guess and when I would start searching for ‘Draco’ it would input D and then I’d start running and no ‘raco’ would be written. I had to unbind the R key, now with R unbound and I search for ‘Draco’ it actually works without a problem.

The problem your having with the ‘textbox’ not registering you keystrokes is due to the following scenario. you can replicate this easely.

• open the trade post
• type something in the search box
• left click somewhere on your screen that is not the trade post window
• now it the keystrokes don’t register no more

workaround so you dont have to close the trade post.

• click another icon on the left side and back to the’scale’ icon
• now you can type again

as soon as your typing in the searchbox (assuming you didnt left click outside the trade post) all key binds are ignored.
