Why do so many unintelligent people undercut with crafting supplies on the TP? Do you not realize you are cheating yourself out of money and driving prices down? Crafting supplies will ALWAYS sell. There is no reason to undercut…

Players who PvP on the Trading Post like to win. By undercutting the other player, they get to sell their goods first, thus getting their money first, thus being able to reinvest it faster into other goods to flip. It’s a beautiful cycle that repeats over and over. Time is money.

Beside, missing out on 1 Copper per item doesn’t hurt. The tax percentage rounds it out, so it’s like I’m not missing a thing.

Undercutting by 1copper is not that bad but people do it by a silver at a time… And with crafting supplies they sell insanely fast, there is no reason to undercut with those. When you are cutting a silver a piece (mainly talking t6 mats here) you lose a lot of money…

When I sell crafted things on the TP, I usually undercut. The only times I don’t are when I’m selling like 30 of them, and there’s only 2 listed at the current price. Generally, if there are 10% or less items at the current lowest sell value or the item I am selling, I’ll sell for the lowest, otherwise I’ll undercut. The reason is to save time. If I undercut, that’s like 3 extra seconds I could be spending listing 3 other things.
If I’m selling 20 of something, there’s no way I’m not going to undercut when the current lowest price has 247 of them listed. Sure, they’ll probably sell eventually, but I want gold within the next 24 hours, not 3 weeks from now.

More QQ about this ? Srsly … I don’t even touch at TP, I make my gold doing other things but I have friends who play with TP pretty well, and they make a lot of profit very fast and they all do undercutting strategies.

If you lose the TP battle my friend, don’t come here to whine about it please.

If there was some etiquette against undercutting that was actually enforced/followed, then people would make quite a bit of coin by buying out a whole ton of an item to artificially raise the price. This would happen quite a bit more in some of the less popular “chef” materials and components: lemongrass is an example I saw before.

I have a few examples of crafting mats that didn’t sell in my screenshot – all “match lowest seller” postings a while back.

Why are you complaining? You said it yourself, crafting supplies will ALWAYS sell. Who cares if they undercut…
