before the patch i used to transmute my gear just to preserve the rune in it, now you can’t.
now your only choice to keep the armor and runes is Upgrade Extractor.
i keep testing builds and try different things but with the cost of Upgrade Extractor which cost now about 25g for just one Upgrade Extractor and you need 150g!! to extract one set of armor.
i thought this patch meant to make it easier for players to try new builds.

until now i lost more than 200g, i got some expensive runes put on unsalvageable armor but still buying the runes again is cheaper than paying 150g to extract them.

Only if you are buying with gold. The Gem Store is priced based on cash value and not the fluctuating, ever increasing exchange rate that goes up because so many players aren’t willing to pay $13.75 for 5. So repulsed that they will force themselves to do activities that they hate.

@Behellah: actually, not even then. It is FAR cheaper to convert those gems to gold then buy whatever runes/sigils you are trying to extract than to use an upgrade extractor. Usually you can buy 4-10 for the same price, but on the really expensive runes/sigils it’s as low as 2-3 for the same price (yes; 2.5 traveler runes or 4 divinity runes for the price of 1 extractor when converting gems to gold).
Only superior sigil of generosity and >+9 AR infusions are worth using an upgrade extractor.

just let us use transmutation charges to unequip sigils and runes

There is no risk. Using an extractor is a waste of gold or gems. With the same amount of gold or gems, you could just buy the rune or sigil with gold to spare (minus one or two crazy expensive sigils).
