We’re just getting stepped on right now.
I can’t farm Dunwell because I’m a ranger, by the time I heard about embers, people had trolled it in every server I tried. I thought about crafting a warrior up to 80 so I won’t get left behind, but its too late because cooking went from 3g to 6g and it would take me almost 20g to level certain crafts. The only option I have right now would be to buy gold, but the ANet conversion is the same as it was before the inflation and I don’t trust 3rd party sites. They keep saying they have a plan for this, but really, how on earth do you fix this? Add in huge gold sinks, up the gold to gems conversion rate, anything like that would hurt everyone, including the players who didn’t get a chance to farm this stuff. Abyss dye and the like have been skyrocking, ectos have gone up alarmingly, but my gold isn’t going up hardly at all because my class is bad at farming the stuff that gets us money.

Pretty much everyone I have asked has told me not to even try farming Dunwell. I ran full zerk everything, soldiers with zerk trinkets, swapping traits and weapons, etc. and I still only made about 2g/hour because I couldn’t do it with multiple gambits. As for Ember farming, I can go full zerk, pop RaO with sword and use my jaguar on a full hp champion ember and occasionally not get it tagged. But that isn’t really my point, either.
I have school on the weekdays and a part-time job. I can get on for maybe an hour on the weekdays, and focus mainly on the weekends. I’m hovering around 20g and have been for a while now, but abruptly it has no value. How do I get enough gold for the value? Spend hours farming embers of the jubilee that I don’t have. If I play WvW now, I just get poorer because of buying structures, armor repairs and the little to no loot you get.

There’s your problem. You’ll have to quit school and your job if you want to keep up with the people who play (correction: farm) 18 hrs per day. Time = money and you need one or the other to keep up with the Joneses.

You can still farm tier2. You dont’ have to farm tier3.

This video’s are old so not easy to pull it off after the patch. But you don’t need to 4 gambit it, still quite profitable if you 3 gambit it. Or just do tier2.

If all that fails, and you can’t farm ember. Farm frostgauge sound. You have no excuse for that.

And basically you are upset because other people spend hundred of hours farming for a piece of skin, convenient item to save a few minutes, or hoarding gold for the sack of hoarding gold and never spend them.

Any class can farm. The frostgorge and ember farms are completely profession independent. The Gauntlet doesn’t have to be farmed at T3. You can farm T2 for still a decent amount of g/hr.

How much money you earn is entirely up to you. That is the beauty of MMO’s everyone starts the same and has the same opportunities. There are no separate tax brackets, no less fortunate neighborhoods, no being born into money, everyone is the same. If someone is richer than you it is because they used their intelligence and play time in a way that you didn’t.

The only thing gold can buy are skins, convenient item which save a few minute, or make you feel good you are a millionaire eventhough you never spend any money.

I spend hours everyday farming cof before the patch. People always ask me what I’m farming for. I always tell them nothing. And they asked me if I’m enjoying farming cof. Which I dont’ understand. They are farming as much as me, if they don’t enjoy it, why are they doing it.

Obviously I understand what they are saying. They spend hundred of hours farming a legendary eventhough they don’t enjoy farming. And I just farm because I like to see my gold and asset go up, eventhough I dont’ need any gold.

I didnt mean to be rude. My advice to you, stay in school, keep your job.
Do an extra hour at your job, buy a gem card and convert it into gold. I am pretty sure, you will end up with more gold than farming for an hour.

Subject 7 (tier 3) was heavily nerfed, so he gives less than tier 2. The other tier 3 fights give more.

many people are farming the charr fighter. So I suppose it should be somewhat decent. And tier 2 don’t give more silver than tier 3. WIth the exception of subject 7, because it was nerfed.

Consider it a blessing, do you really want to join the champion zerg crews?

Personally I wont waste my game time with that kind of play. Job, school, and family here, I just treat this game like a sub mmo. Drop $15-20/month and I can pretty much get any LS item/champ drop I want, and if nothing interests me I wait til gem to gold is real good make some easy coin.

But the game is meant to be for casuals.

As for how the OP is being left behind one could infer that the sudden increase in certain T6 mats into the game world/economy is a precursor to something in the future. Especially when one looks at the recipes for the new items available from this patch and the recent looking ahead blog post. Thus the OP will be behind the 8ball compared to those who can farm if certain developments pan out that way.

I didn’t mean for this to come about like a complaint of “I’m not getting enough money!”

A lot of people aren’t aware of LS as new players or simply aren’t getting the opportunities to get on for this event, whether it be illness or vacation. Non-80 players also are at a disadvantage. With the amount of gold being created, not sold around but created by Dunwell and the like, I have no idea how ANet plans to ‘fix’ the huge amount of inflation that is going to happen.

Certain people greatly, hugely, extremely exaggerate the amount of coin they are pulling in. This “problem” is not nearly as much of a problem as you and others think that it is.

Dunwell farm gives ~18g an hour.

If you convert the gold to gems, that’s about 500 gems, or less than minimum wage at most places in America.

$10 will get you ~23g.

It’s a lot more efficient to just get a job and put that money into Gems than it is to farm ingame.

Whoever told you that mislead you. All you needed was Axe/Axe,Longbow and you’d be able to do him regardless of stats (provided you got the sigils effect you trait).

Ranger was one of the primary Deadeye farming classes prior to the buff. Now it’s just Thief.

What about those that farm? Nothing changes for you unless you didn’t bother playing for the past 2 weeks.

There’s a lot of gold in the economy now. Prices have increased. But that also works for you incase you get said items and sell them.
