The price almost doubled for seemingly no reason… supply is at an alltime high whereas demand is at an all time low. And yet the prices are leveled. This is the most they’ve ever been and I can’t figure it out. Is there a new recipe out or did the market just take a huge unexplained spike (see: dill)?

I’ve noticed dill and chili peppers have jumped quite a bit recently, too.

Many people who generally may have farmed them could be in SS farming there. When there is little to do in game, that is when alts and farming items/events/mobs comes into play. When those people stop, you tend to see spikes. This is just a theory. Check the date on the changes in mats, then check the date on when Southsun opened its different steps. There is some wiggle room as far as it happening at the very moment of starting, but could be a sign. Dills start was a strange phenomenon, its increased prices are more of a market scare. Goes to show just takes one person and one thread to change an items worth, even if temporarily.

Probably new popular cooking guides or something.

Ice cream or omnom bars? Maybe something in the new patch.

well if indeed new people joined they might have started making mf food which oddly works better then the armor for some. I think if they combined the buffs from the store guild food and luck sigil it would boost them enough to get a few things, maybe, and that’s if they don’t suffer the lopsided bug.

Haven’t notice a problem with them, it is possible albeit a bit grindy, to farm at least 100 a day.

From experience I can say that drop rate has decreased quite a bit. I harvest all herbs in metrica province and caledon forest daily ever since the game launched and i can repport drops have been abysmal since the last major update.

It was already too expensive, especially for making ice cream

It’s happening with all random herbs now. inb4 sesame seeds skyrocket

I have gone back there many times and reliably get far fewer from the same nodes. They said they changed the drop table when they removed black peppercorn, they’d have to adjust things so that there’s not an overage of vanilla with peppercorn removed, maybe they overdid it.

The only way to get 100 vanilla beans per hour is botting or TP. Prove me wrong.

Don’t need to prove you wrong, you need to prove your doing it wrong yourself
The problem is that Vanilla beans really only drop well in a few places, and those aren’t even hard places. I will log in an edit to see what the ratio was, but I wasn’t keeping track of the other types at the time aside from peppercorns and Vanilla Beans.

Sorry i don’t have the garlic numbers I want to say around 120ish.. When I clear them out maybe I can do another run and check exactly what I get. Don’t forget you can get anywhere from 2-5 beans if you are lucky. I’ve twice gotten 5 beans from 3 nodes, one character, greatest moment ever

Oh and 2-3 Uni dyes if anyone cares.

Also 10 from ONE node.

That being said … Cloves do seem to be dropping much more frequently now.
