Am I missing something here?? This thing is just a regular exotic with a ruby jewel, it should be like 90 silver.

First, no such thing as a “regular” exotic.

Second, supply and demand. It only drops from the Balthazar temple event so limited supply. It has Berserker stats so there’s a demand.

I’m not buying people are willing to pay 20 gold just for an exotic ring. You can get an ascended one practically for free. It has no skin or visibility so it’s not even a status symbol.

Not everyone care about ascended items. Not everyone do Fractals. Most don’t bother looking through all the rings at the Laurel Merchant to see what each does. At 35 Laurels, which you can easily convert to 35g, makes 20g look like a bargain. Even 25 Laurels and 250 honor seems expensive.

Also looking over the last week it looks if the ones that were bought were bought as low as 14g.

Just because the low sell price is X doesn’t mean any are sold at that.

Really really weird and stupid to me. I guess if people are willing to pay that much, sell it to them.

Crafting jewelry must be extremely lucrative, I will have to try that.

You can’t craft this one and iirc it has like all temple trinkets a little flavor text. Some people like/want that.

I know you can’t craft it, but presumably worthless berserker rings you can craft will sell nearly as well as the worthless Balthazar’s Band.

I had one drop for me today which is why I noticed the ridiculous pricing. I don’t remember any flavor text. But I sold it ASAP because I thought the price was a typo.

Probably people buying it for the flavor. I shelled out the extra gold to get the Bone Fragment of Tequatl because it’s cooler than the karma trinkets.

It’s called OCDs. Some people feel a need to collect rare stuff just because it’s rare.

I think this is a piece aimed at collectors. There is hardly any RP opportunity as it is, and some people flock to this stuff.

Lore items play a huge roll in MMO’s. so people tend to collect the one with the cooler name story or picture
