So far the "Home Portal Stones are nothing but a WASTE of GEMS !! Gee I can run around in my “Home Area” and NOTHING else, which is a totally MORONIC IDEA !!
If my character was able to purchase a house/apartment/ etc. it would be worth buying one, BUT just to teleport to an area that you CANNOT DO ANYTHING is a WASTE of Gems to purchase the Stones !!!! Is there going to be an update where characters can buy a “Home” or how about REFUNDING the kitten purchase price of the Stones and getting rid of the USELESS items, since they seem to provide NO PURPOSE !!!!

The use of the Home portal stone was very clear, if you don’t think it’s worth it then why buy it in the first place?

There are things to do in the home instance for thsoe that have gathering nodes in their home instance.

Why buy something of which the purpose is very clear and then complain that you don’t like it? If you didn’t like it, you shouldn’t ahve bought it.

Cant you grow stuff in your home instance? seems like a pretty good reason to have an instant teleport there to me!

You can leave your home instance by it’s main entrance to get to your home city. Also, there are multiple account upgrades (namely harvesting nodes) that you can get for your home instance. There are also several merchants in most home instances where you can sell junk and purchase salvage kits. I fail to see how this isn’t helpful.

My home instance has candy corn, sprockets and quartz to farm and yeah…I broke down and bought the other nodes too (for no real reason except why not).

Well I suppose it’s an okay feature for people who have way too much money. Otherwise I doubt anyone would buy it just to spend 10 seconds less traveling to their home instance.

You can travel to your character’s native home from anywhere in the world and back again (or exit the door to your home city), use the vendor to sell off junk, harvest nodes for your dailies, charge quartz with the shard if you have it. 100 gems cheaper than the perma-passes and available right now as opposed to returning occasionally (and it went on sale too at nearly 50% off).

Pretty sweet when I want to get home from far out in the world.

Perhaps I am missing something here, but why would you buy it if you consider it a waste of money ?

If you want a refund then you have to request it by submitting a ticket through the Support button at the top of the page.

However I highly recommend you calm down and not be so rude in the ticket if you want it resolving as this overly-flamboyant and dramatic way of expressing your concern won’t resolve anything.

Has anyone here bought this stone?

I wonder if the use of it gives your party members a popup to join your home instance like it does, when you’re both in the same city.

If it doesn’t, I won’t bother buying the item, because I always take someone with me for group gathering.

I only visited the ‘home instance’ at the time they introduced that sprocket-rewarding minning pick.
I quit gw2 shortly after since I think it was a kittened thing to sell in gem store (the pick).
never went back since.

The home feature was planned or is still planned but gets delayed be cause there are more important things to do in the game (yeah LS and hopefully an expansion – where else those couple of 100 people?).

We may see more funcions in the future. In my own opinion I don’t care about home instances. Really not my thing.

Since they’ve first introduced it, they have added a variety of material farms that you can buy for your instance.

I find it rather useful.
I can get a swift and easy Daily Gatherer by using the stone and then at once get back to the exact same place where I used it. Quite useful I would say.

The way you talk/write immediately makes me want to disagree with you, no matter the subject.

back to topic:
is this portal stone character bound or does every char on your account get one?
is it an actual item that clogs up your inventory or does it just add a travel option somewhere in the HUD?

Really only useful to gather home nodes and you don’t have a character to park near a home instance (and use to gather them every day).

Yes, it is less than ideal for 90% of the playerbase (just guessing at that percentage).

I do agree that OPs overall tone in posting about this suggests some other issues as nobody is forcing you to buy the item….just ignore it. If you purchased it and are disappointed, try opening a Support ticket, they are usually rather generous with refund requests on gemstore items.

Because it can take you back to your original spot with just one click and one loading screen without paying a bunch of silver every time?

It’s a niche-use tool: it’s extremely useful to those who like to pop into their home instance quickly and utterly valueless to anyone else. I’d never buy one for myself, but neither would I criticize anyone for purchasing a Home Portal Stone.

Wait so 1-3 silver depending on location is “a bunch”? I pvp and get zip for cash and I still find this low.

1-3 silver is ONE trip, you also have to pay for the return journey, which would make the cost 2-6 silver.

And yes, it is indeed a bunch.

I have one and most of the nodes. I love it.
