What is this nonsense? TP sillyness.
Anet probably wasted a team working on this ‘new’ TP for 6 months…
This new TP is far, far worse than the old one.
All the old one needed was a few tweaks and it would have been great but Anet don’t do simple when they can instead waste loads of resources and balls things up!
That’s what they have been doing since GW2 came out, finding ways to make the game worse and wasting resources on useless projects that the player base is not interested in.
I also felt like I was clicking Quite a bit more to do the same things.
you can’t lose gold making buy orders…
Did you cancel the buy orders?

I disagree. I’m definitely seeing improved performance loading TP pages that I presume is because of the new browser engine behind the new TP UI, and I quite like the new interface…
The OP is complaining about “losing money” by placing buy orders at highest bidder prices instead of buying immediately at the lowest seller prices because the default buy price setting is highest bidder. Imagine the number of complaints we’d see if the default buy price setting was lowest seller instead.
In my view, the default buy price being set at highest bidder is the best option as that makes it a lot more difficult to for people to lose money if they’re not paying attention.
He just needs to cancel the buy orders (if they haven’t been filled) and pick up the money at the TP. If they have been filled, he can relist the items on the TP and could even make a profit.
This is the grief they get when trying to improve the amount of gold a seller can get or save a buyer some coin.
But some players, having been trained for up to two years to let coin slip through their fingers, complain that their immediate gratification is no longer immediate.

You cant lose money placing buy orders? Really? I didnt know the world stopped to give me time to port to get my money back so I can hopefully buy the item at the price I wanted.
hint It doesnt.
Wasnt buy the lowest seller the default before?

When I want something immediate I want it immediately. When I want to save money. I am not in a rush to click buy or whatever it is. Also some players are kittenes.

If you place a buy order at highest bid and it gets fulfilled you save coin over buying it immediately. Just like selling an item at lowest seller price rather than selling it immediately earns you more coin.
At the very least it removes a player from being a supplier and customer of players that some call “evil TP flippers” who rely on players immediate gratification to earn what some think is an unfair amount of coin. Coin that individual players could keep if they simply tempered their tendencies.
Yes, selling on the old TP defaulted to high bid and buying defaulted to low seller, the opposite to the new TP when if first rolled out Tuesday.

Hint: It does.
“It appears when buying it defaults to Highest BIDDER not Lowest Seller so you cant instantly buy. Shame on me for not paying attention but”
if you placed an order to match the highest bidder then you are SAVING money over purchasing it immediately. If you would rather buy it immediately that is fine, you can lose money and purchase an item immediately like you want. You can cancel your buy order free of charge and get ALL your money back in the transaction tab.
le sigh.
I am saving money only if it gets sold to me at that price.
e.g. cuz I cant remember prices.
Also whats this lose money kitten. You lose money when buying things no matter what. Its just how much you lose.
I lost more money because I didnt pay attention and the item I wanted to buy was bought before I could port to a TP merch and the next highest was a significant prince increase from the original. Yes I could have waited and maybe the price would have gone down but at that point I was so livid I was seeing red that and I was limited by time factor.
world stops. apparently people people stop buying things so I can load and actually kitten it.
If you bought something for $10 that you could have bought for $8, you lost $2.
If you sold something for $8 that you could have sold for $10, you lost $2.
Where does that $2 end up, the the hands of a TP user who knows players are just to darn impatient to wait for that extra $2.
