What is your gold per hour, and how? After all the nefrs.

Still about the same – I do some farming, mystic forging, flipping and power trading. A good day might bring in 50G (G per hour makes little sense), a bad day I might be down the same (the weekend drop in prices hurt ).

Farming is the LEAST profitable though but I’ve always found it so.

I make about 30G/Day, sometimes over 40G, sometimes 20G, depends how much i play that day.

They removed loot from steeltide last patch so that’s a nice farming area lost to nerfing.
I do wonder what they expected people to do, prices for items are through the roof and they kept nerfing the events in cursed shore to a point where lots of people just got fed up (waiting 20 minutes between penitent/shelter event spawns is not fun) and looked elsewhere to farm. It seems they did decrease the time between shelter/penitent downtime with the last patch, hopefully intentionally, so farming there now is once again somewhat decent. Maybe average 2-5 rares per hour and sell stufffluff for 1g50s.

The sad part is that I don’t understand this power trading shenanigans.

By post nerfs do you mean post-Nov 15th patch? Because that’s when rare and exotic drop rates went down the toilet. Went from 2-4 rares per event in Cursed Shore down to 2-4 rares in an 8 hour farming session, if you’re lucky. And that’s with 150% Magic Find.

So much for making them more common drops.

why should something that is declared rare or exotic become more common? That simply goes against the nature of their rarity :P

I just started some attempts to make gold with the TP/MF yesterday, result was pretty good for an hour in the afternoon, made like 8g with this, not to bad i suppose

Tracking my buy order from this morning with my target, i’ll have approx 10g profit for 15 mins in the morning and 15 later when im at home for the sell setup

looks kinda nice, only flaw is that i rely on skillpoints :P

They ‘expect’ you to buy gems with dollars and then convert them into gold.

Selling gems is their only form of income.

Nothing changed for me, and if you put me in hardcore mode I can make over 100g a day. In much less than 12h.
Though I feel like a dirty w—-e after playing for so long.
Unlike our little flippers here, my way is solid, no losses only gain, and can be repeated whenever I want.
I also won’t share for the reason that whenever one does so, the whole market gets kittened up slowly, in this game everything must be done in secret.

However if you got around 500g it shouldnt be to hard to let this money work for you, of course the higher your profit is the more work it will be, especially if you are going for “clean” profit, clean as in, no other resources other than gold used unlike upgrading with the MF.

Simply buy low sell high can do that, no doubt.

Setting buying orders carries no cost. Depending on your capital, it’s possible to make a lot of money on high spread goods. Be ready to update buying order a lot though.

I can’t say how much per hour cause I set Buy orders that are filled out over a random amout of time, what I can say is I log on Flip what I bought and typically walk away with 4 to 5 more gold than I spent. Then spend a little of that to replace buy orders then go out and have fun come back the next day repeat.

Thats what I do, what i’m not gonna say is exactly what i’m buying or why I’m buying them or how I’m flipping them. Thats your job to figure out. and reasons are obvious too why its not shared for those that know how market secrets work.

Definitely not true. The stuff I do has ROI in the 25-200% range. If you sat there nursing buy orders for 4-6 hours you could make 50g profit starting the day off with maybe 50g. 200g is overkill. 500g is WAY overkill.

What 500g allows you to do is place a zillion buy orders, go to bed, wake up and make 50g. Maybe that’s what you meant.

Yeah, no karma or skill points. Right now I have buy orders down for 25% and 30% ROI stuff, and there’s a 100% ROI thing I do everyday just buying stuff straight off the TP sell orders. Pretty sure I’m the only one doing it because besides me the demand for the item is almost nil.

Some people (myself included) enjoy playing a kind of trader

do mega events, stand on 1 toe pray to Melandru, get 2 precursors from chest. bam welcome to the 1% club. jk uhh if you farm dungeons like mindless farm i believe you can make around 2-3.5g an hour. what i personally do is just put hundreds of buy orders in trading post in the morning. collect in evening re list them and then put new buy orders…..now i don’t make as much as those power traders, but i atleast have a steady income from an effortless task.

You guys haven’t realized how to make gold without logging on? Granted it’s only possible in some countries. I AM talking GW2 in game currency. Any way, I can come up with about 20 g an hour lately. I don’t, but I can. And it’s by helping kids out. I can’t do it back to back hours, but I only play 3 hours a day on average, and a solid half of that is spent Role-playing or playing dress up at the PvP locker. Also, I have 1 piece of exotic armour. I buy pretty things I like, craft stuff for my lobbies and guild mates. Some times I’ll get frisky and buy BL clothes. Or I’ll head down to a wharf in LA and pick up some nice looking pixels… NPCs… I’m not soliciting with the client for ERP nor for real. The thing about the wharf was a joke.

Full Magic find armour (+opal on 1 of them cause no point having all 5 pirate sigil) and my weapon does the 6% stack at 25 kills + onomberry… I got many 3 gold in like 7hrs in orr… Its really annoying =/

An honest answer to which I will reply from a post I made on reddit about the use of alts.

“This is a great question which is done blindly by most people. Here are the reasons why a level 80 alt is valuable.

Diversity in game play. Feel bored? Switch to your Ele and spice things up. Feeling like risking it all and want to down a lot? Switch to your thief.

Achievement. The home screen has 3 banners of Vigil, Priory and Whispers. You get the achievement by having 3 alts join the 3 different orders.

Dungeons. It is agreed that dungeons are the fastest and easiest way of making money. Each path in most dungeons nets you around 70 Silver. Plus tokens which could be salvaged for Ecto. Eg – Run both paths of CoF on your main and then on your 3 alts. That is a total of 240 tokens and over 4 Gold. Make sure you have a gap of at least 2 hours if not you hit the DR. With 30 tokens, you could purchase one rare from the CoF merchant in LA. That would be a total of 8 rares. If salvaged and according to the current statistics, you would get around 7-8 Ectos when sold on the TP yields more than 2 Gold.

While you are taking a break from CoF for the DR to cool down, you could run all three paths of AC. Now that would be a total of 540 tokens and over 6 Gold.

Mining ore. Orichalcum Ore prices are in fact dropping. However, I dare not buy them. Only option is for me to mine them on my alts and my main. If I mine the entire 3 maps, I would end up with 36 Ores on each character. So, on 3 characters, it would be a total of 108 Ores. Sell them on the TP, and you end up with a bit less than 3 Gold.

Badges of Jumping if you are interested in getting a Legendary. Do the 3 Boderland puzzle on 3 characters and you would average around 45 Badges. Do the EB puzzle on all three and you would get another 45. Ending up with a total of 90 Badges.

Total gold made by running Dungeons and selling Ectos – 12 Gold
Total Badges of Jumping made – 90
Total AC tokens with which you may do whatever you please – 540
Total made from Orichalcum Ores – 3 Gold
Total Gold made – 15 Gold
Total time spent – The entire day.

Over the course of a day I typically make 10-20g from trading depending on market conditions (Rising over time due to increasing funds with which to trade). Actual time spent on the trade floor is about 20 minutes; strictly speaking that would make it like 30-60g an “hour” but the reality if I spent an hour solid on the trade floor with this strategy I would not make 30-60g, the transactions play out over a long time-frame.

Being a mesmer I can’t farm like many classes, but I make maybe 3-5g a day futzing about helping friends with dungeons and exploring. I’m currently levelling a guardian alt and plan to do a bit of farming with them.

Long time past i used to spend a lot more of my time on the trade floor and used to make a lot more gold but wasn’t actually playing the game much :p – which led to a revision of my trading strategy hence I now only need spend 20 minutes over the course of a day to make a reasonable wad of cash. I already have T3 armour for my main, a greatsaw for my guardian and no plans to chase a legend so I don’t mind not being so much of a power trader these days
