I want to farm some of them in case their drop will be nerfed, which area completition with transmutation stone is the fastest to complete?

The six cities would be the fastest zones to complete. You could create a series of characters assuming you have a spare slot to map them out in sequence, though you might have to be a bit careful running from Vigil Keep to Lion’s Arch now.

Alternately, if you want more rewards than just the transmutation stones, mapping out Mount Maelstrom, Fireheart Rise, Orr zones or Frostgorge Sound will reward you with two exotics in the end along with the stones/Black Lion Key reward.

You get three transmutation stones for map completion on each city. You can just keep creating new characters and mapping out the cities. Or just keep doing the same city on newly created characters if it’s faster (I like Rata Sum, for example, because I know where everything is). You can do all five racial cities plus Lion’s Arch for 18 total stones I believe. Rinse and repeat as you like.

Personally i would say Hoelbrak is the quickest.

I still think it will be quicker to farm some gold and buy Crystals instead.

Yeah, Rata Sum is nice and compact.

So you don’t need to run around in Divinitys Reach or Black Citadell, where also its all more on different levels and sometimes complicater to reach ? Also not much jumping needed in Hoelbrak, only 1 Vista there that needs some Jumping.

It’s not so much about jumping – it’s about time spenting running from point to point.

Rata Sum has 3 levels but they are very easy to navigate and access since it has a small area.

Ok .. Rata Sum maybe quicker .. but i can’t really think that Hoelbrak is the longest of all Cities as somebody said.

For me Rata sum is always the slowest. I move ultrafast, but there’s always some POI’s, i need to run 3x for, before i finally realize at what level they are.

The Grove is 100x easier for me. And also very compact. Hoelbrak is also easy for me since i know every poi secret (played 6x norn at release, so basically i just remember the city very well). Black citadel goes fast except for a few things like in the outskirts ruins (with trees). Divinities reach used to be slow, but i’m getting the hang of it now and is also faster.

I would rate Grove best, then Rata sum (if you know the secrets, not me thus), then divinities reach, then hoelbrak then black citadel. But last 3 are quite close to each other.

I’m just bad at jumping and hate the vistas in Grove

I’d say the grove and divinity’s reach.

I think if you’re farming you’re probably gonna do all the cities before wiping the character. And a quick sprint out to the Order of Whispers map since that 1 point to clear a whole map…

Once you get used to the layout, each city doesn’t really take that much more time than any other city. So just do them all.

You might possibly be wasting your time farming transmutation stones.

From the 15.4.14, they are going to be easily obtainable in sPvP via the new reward system. You do reward tracks apparently, each has 40 tracks and every 1 track gives you 4 charges, which equal 1 and a third transmutation stone. You only after win 1.5 sPvP matches to complete a track, which is fairly easy.

So unless you have a serious aversion to sPvP, I would not bother farming transmutation stones!

You’re doing it wrong. When you open the map you can switch levels on the bottom right corner of the map and see at what level the POI you need lights up. That’s the level your POI is on.

Rata Sum is by far the fastest.

It’s nice to see that everyone seems to have a very clear opinion as to what city works best, but can we maybe exchange some of our times to clarify? I found a route through the Grove that seems pretty optimal to me and I can clear the city in about 6 mins, but I have no idea how long Rata Sum would take me.

Btw, the Order of Whispers’ map doesn’t include Transmutation Stones

Each reward track gives you 4 charges, in total. Each reward track has 8 minor tiers, and every second tier will you give you 1 charge. So, 40 pvp matches will give you 4 charges. That’s still better than nothing, but not that overly helpful either if you’re someone who loves swapping their armor around, or has a lot of alts.

I wish there was a way to customize your PVP rewards. If I’m a fashionista, I’d like the option to get more transmutation charges and in return get less tomes of knowledge or any of the other rewards.

Really? Made it sound like you got 4 charges per track when I watched ready up but I could be wrong…

There’s 1 PvP track, 5? regional tracks and at least 8? dungeon tracks, so that’s 56 charges in total if it works as you say…plus other tracks apparently are going to be released…

Already worked out I should have 120+ charges when the change happens anyway…

Isn’t it likely they will alter the low level area rewards so there is NOT a relatively easy and free (yet time consuming) way to obtain transmutation charges? I know I would if I were selling the charges…..

I guess stocking up on them before the patch isn’t a bad idea, however.
