I wanted to buy a nice armor skin for my charr engineer, but the two skins that are
currently available at the TP (aetherblade and the new one) are both buggy.
Have a look at the following pictures and see how the tail gets out of the armor skin

Please fix these skins, and the next time you will make a new skin give more attention at charr’s tale animation, and asura toes (which come out of the shoes).

An armor which is not buggy (medium armor, I do not know for the other types) is the Vatlaaw’s armor. Vatlaaw’s armor has a proper animation for the tale and probably you can use it for new skins.

P.S. I bought the skin for my asura thief and I really love it

I’m still waiting for a new heavy armor that actually looks like it could provide good protection in combat.

I won’t buy it because we still don’t have a skin wardrobe. From what I hear they might be working on a solution though.

Especially when you factor in that going full Zerker in this game & beating the “DPS clock” while dodging slightly, LITERALLY mitigates more damage over time you & your group would take / have to heal back, than all the Sentinel & Cleric’s armor you could possibly Afford….

Can’t wait for Legendary Zerker gear … It will basically be Dental Floss /w flaming quaggan rainbow particle effects & extra boob jiggle (especially for the men).
Then the cycle will finally be complete….

Hadn’t tried it on a Charr, but have to say, like you, I love it on my Asura engineer. The Charr need a lot of attention when it comes to armor generally.

I really love the Magitech armor. It looks amazing, probably up there with my favorite medium armors in the game. But both of my Medium Armor characters are Charr, and the way the armor fits on Charr ruins it. I cannot justify buying armor that clips the tail and just fits terribly in general (shoulders and headpiece, general stretching), no matter how much I might like the style of the set.

Its one thing for old armors that are already made and done to fit poorly on Charr. They were all made at once, possibly rushed to finish before launch so no time to adjust them to individual races, fine. I would still hope that you would slowly improve the situation, maybe fix one or two armor sets a month or something. That would be nice, and I wouldn’t at all expect it all to be fixed at once, a gradual progression would be just fine.

But I really don’t understand why NEW armor sets can’t be adjusted for Charr (and other races to some extent as well, they only really fit “perfect” on humans). There’s a new armor set released every month or two months, surely within that time frame you can spare a little time to fit the armor properly to non-human races like Charr.

Especially if you’re expecting players to pay gems for these things. If I’m going to pay real money for armor skins, they should at least look right.

I would be happy to purchase more light armor skins if they didn’t make my Sylvari look like a Las Vegas showgirl, such as the Phoenix does. I love the floating feathers. If it were more tastefully done I’d be sold.

A.Net said that they won’t release race-specific armor anytime soon and I think this also means that they won’t customize skins like that for specific races, it is too much work for them by the looks of it, which is sad. Charrs in general seem to be more a burden for a.net (no cloaks because of the charr running animation, creating armors for them being a pain in the kitten, … )

I wouldn’t really classify a few model adjustments as “race specific armor”, personally. They probably don’t want to do race-specific armor because its 100% restricted to certain players, but adjusting armors to fit the races properly is just making it so that the general armor benefits all players equally.

Maybe they should create the armor with Charr in mind and then let it scale to the human model if they can only be bothered to create a single model. Wonder how that would look, heh.

It is kind of obvious when they redesign for Charrs and when they just out of laziness use the same humanoid model for them. Its not a fix you are asking but to do the work they never did actually.

Oh, how I wish they did fit perfectly on humans. My phoenix armor sure doesn’t.

As for the new skins, I agree with you on the medium armor, the light is pretty bad as well, but the heavy was quite nice this time around. And they all look good for women.

I understand. I don’t mind it but I did try it out with some pirate and temple trousers and both look good with it and keep the rest of the style, if you’d like another option.
