Imgur this is the first exotic I have seen that is account bound and soul bound on use. As you can see it has an awesome skin but the name is a little lacking.

For those who don’t click those links, what the picture shows is a shortbow that is Account Bound on pickup, after a Guardian has picked it up. Meaning that the drop is basically trash, unless he has a thief or ranger and is running a shortbow build and likes that skin.

Why isn’t it tradeable ?

Because it’s from the Fractals.

The developers stated that the Exotics from the Fractals are there so that you can use them for the stats or for the skin. Not for selling.

According to Anet, some items in the Fractals use skins that are exclusive to items bought for karma. Anet is very careful to make sure that things that are available for karma only remain karma only. Just like dungeon items are limited to dungeons only. Exclusivity, I guess…

How can they be considered karma only if they can be obtained without spending karma ?

I will also point out that the screenshot was taken in Dredgehaunt Cliffs, just outside Sorrow’s Embrace. Is it more likely he picked it up in SE, or that he picked it up in FOTM and went there before taking the screenshot ?

I’m pretty sure it’s from Fractals… I noticed I picked up a few items there with similar names, for example, I received a masterwork (green) “Axe”.

Well, karma weapons are untradeable. And this weapon is bascially a Norn T3 cultural bow. I found few other exotics and I had no problem with selling them.

You can still salvage them. I got 3 ectos from the last one I salvaged, which while not as good as the price of an exotic, is better than wasting a bank slot.

Not all exotics are account bound, only the karma gear and the weapons named…..longbow,dagger,sword Ect. Ect.
