Why can i not gift a permanent finisher to a friend? i just bought 1600 gems so that i can buy me the Llama finisher and him the great junglewurm finisher, but after i bought mine and wanned to buy his i didn’t see the gift sign like on all the other stuff from the tradung post. If it is a bug fine but if it isn’t what is the reason behind it?

Their general policy with gifting seems to be that you can’t gift anything that can be potentially unusable but you have no way of knowing. You can’t gift a permanent finisher because they might have it already. You can’t gift a bank tab because they might be at the limit already. They don’t want to allow you to find out due to privacy issues.

In theory they should be able to allow the recipient to reject the gift and have the gems refunded to the sender. Not sure why that isn’t in.

I don’t think that was their reason. Take bank slots and stack boosters. Who doesn’t want either of them? Any two people can then buy half of what they need and gift the rest to another therefore lowering the cost by 50%. No way they are turning down all that revenue.

There is a limit on the number of bank tabs you can have. I think the current is 12. It used to be lower.

Not sure how you are getting a 50% cost reduction unless they are running that promotion for buy one and gift one for 50% off(or was it reversed …) again.

The real reason is (as silly as it sounds) it’s a privacy issue. Anet didn’t want people knowing that others had bought or not bought an item, so they restricted gifting to items that can stack. This was in a dev post a long time ago in response to this exact question i believe.
