Why didn't precursors drop in price?
Due to the RNG nature, it takes time for the prices of precursors to respond to changes. You can hardly justify a verdict of “still steadily increasing” with the data so far.
In any case, the increase in chances is counterbalanced by the significant jump in materials prices, which has nearly doubled the costs of making level 80 rares. With that in mind, I wouldn’t expect prices for precursors to go down.
I don’t see why you think rares, exotics and the mats should go down in price, either.

ok, so here’s the deal:
even if they DOUBLED the chance of getting a precursor, which i don’t assume honestly, the prices of rares have DOUBLED as well as exotics, the price of the precursors would be of course the same!
so in other words: if they didn’t increase the chance for more than 100%-150% percent you would barley see any price changes at all, the chance would be still minimal and the money you put in much.
:-)

lol, 150% of 0.000000001% becomes 0.0000000015%
Depending on the actual percentage (which Anet will never tell us), the increase in chance may or may not make any impact on the price at all.
Dont think the price will change until the scavenger hunt.
I’ve been trying get a precursor and I still havn’t obtained one in the last 100 attempts, that doesn’t mean anything 100 attempts is a statistical drop in the ocean, but it does mean that precursor drop rate probably hasn’t been raised THAT significantly
The drop rate appears to be about 1 in 1000 prior to the patch so even doubling the chance is still only 1 in 500. Combined with the fractal dungeon farming and additional level 80 zones, and the improvement in the T5 and T6 market more people can afford them too which has increased demand relative to supply.

The price did change on precursors. If I take a wild stab in the dark and guess you are referring to Dusk,Dawn, Legend.
Zap was 180g yesterday.
Shield is continuing to drop in price.
from what I can tell most of the pre have dropped in price just the popular ones are dropping much slower because they are popular.

I’m not really sure what triggered it, but all of the precursors have crashed massively in the past half-day or so.
The event chest that spawned during the one time event had a fair rate of dropping precursors.
I know several people who got precursors from the final event chest.
Sadly I only got less than 1g worth of loot + the guranted reward.
It’s still likely to be a good time to buy one, though.
the precursors all dramatically dropped in price because so many got them on the karka event. i got screwed though cuz my game crashed as i was looting so i didnt get anything
I got lucky and picked up The Legend for 139g on Sunday just gone.
Now please tell me again how precursors have not ‘dropped’ in price
I think thats a price reduction of about 60% compared to the listings last week!
EDIT: Grammar
Those with the gold are buying out the Precursors that were lowering the price and reselling at the higher price, keeping those prices high.
