Why is this not in the gem store?
It’s a drop from black lion chests, so it technically is in the gem store. I have 3 saved up, but I don’t want to use them yet. Hehe.

Yeah. I’ll spend gems on those directly, but I’m sure as the stars not spending gems on keys to have a better chance of getting garbage.

Haha I know, I know. It would make lvl 80 very easy though, which I suppose isn’t all that bad, but I guess I would wonder how many of the people know the game. Like if you a decent amount if AP, then I guess it’s fine, but like, I can just see lvl 80s with 100 AP falling over their swords and not using their utilities…. Would be a nightmare! Haha

I imagine it’ll affect lots of alt-holics negatively in terms of psychology. “Man, I want to play alts but Anet is forcing me to buy levels…” Whereas playing to slowly get levels is more accepted in the psyche of many players.
If they were to ever go in the gem shop directly (which I don’t believe they should), they should be 600 or 800 gems a piece (ie, ridiculous overpriced).
Leveling isn’t that hard to begin with, it doesn’t need to be made easier or enter the realm of “easy to buy an 80.”

You can already do this via crafting; I see no reason to not have this convenience at the gem store level as well.

@OP: 400 gems for 1 level? That is way too high. That comes to around 20+ gold. I can craft 7 levels for half that. What would justify 400 gems for one tome?
More along the lines of 40 gems per is much more reasonable and in line with what it already takes to get the job done. And, if you go the crafting route, you at least get an additional benefit of having your skill at 400 on top of the levels gained.
$5,- for 1 level is pretty high though. I doubt many people would buy it.

have a character and keep it for a year and you have something litterally 20X more powerful, a scroll that makes a character lvl 20 in one go.
i rather them changing the scroll in something like “you gain XP equal as gaining 20 levels”, you still need to keep your character for a year but it makes it worthwhile.
