Q:

This is a honest question from someone who is a newbie to the market.

I know it’s a matter of taste, some people just love to watch the market and control it; but I believe it would be nice if there was a way to discourage this kind of “reckless” bidding, only if a little bit.

Ah, the Scepter of Orr. You have taken a risk to deliver this. Now I shall return the favor.

Oh please no. The last thing we need is more fees on our transactions.

It’s like bidding at most auctions. There are no fees for the buyer, just the seller.

It works just fine other than with the people that bot and bid 100,000 of an item to have it go up on the highest demand section on the front page. That’s not the fault of the system either, but the fault of the people abusing it.

no need to use a bot to place 2 million buy orders. just takes 2 hours instead of 5 minutes, but certainly do-able, especially on slow internet connections.

it’s because the sale of the item is taxed, not the buyer. if you taxed buy orders, you would also need to tax buying the lowest listing. would you really expect to pay 11g for an item that costs 10g? well… sales tax in the real world, but this is make believe, kitten!
