Why not have a trading system?
The only issue is that you’d practically not have to play the game any more since you’ll be ale to buy everything with gold i.e. gems i.e. real money.
Should it not be people’s right to play how they want to play? Via buying gems from the gem store to be nice

I really still fail to see why you can’t have the trading post + trading. If I want to buy something from someone on my server and want to give him money without transaction fees of the TP, while also ensuring I can get my item as he gets his money, I should be able to.
However trading laurels, karma and other things of that nature, are really topics of a different discussion, not a general “we should have the ability to trade” one.
The fact that in 2014 an MMO doesn’t have a trade function is nothing short of embarrassing.

The fees counteract inflation (to an extent), not to mention it stops the reincarnation of spamadan.
That I don’t have to listen to non-stop WTB and WTS spam every second of every minute of every hour of every day when I head into town to take care of maintenance is a GODDANG MIRACLE of modern design.
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

But people still do it anyway, but with no trade feature they just get scammed most of the time. And come on, who doesn’t miss Spamadan in a weird sort of way?
I just really fail to see how me trading someone something specific in an impromptu transaction has to result in either me listing an item on the TP for 1c less than the previous so he can buy it, or B, me mailing my item and risking getting nothing in return.
Again. It’s 2014.. Some MMO standards are standards for a reason.

Then Anet can make a special tab for buyers and sellers to use

What server are you on, because on FA, we see a WTS message about once an hour, followed promptly by uproarious laughter and full-on mockery. Take you junk to the TP and post it.
And come on, who doesn’t miss Spamadan in a weird sort of way?
After logging into a few older MMOs this week and getting reacquainted/spattered from head to toe with spam… No. I don’t miss the Great Slouching Beast at all .

And what of the rest of my post?

The rest of the post doesn’t matter, since this topic has been beaten to death in other threads. The player to player trade function is no more, due to an innovative way to prevent scams. You either use the Trading Post to securely do business, or you play the “trust game” with strangers using the mail system.
1.) Trading system would circumvent the gold sinks we have in game
2.) A trading system involving largely account bound items/currencies defeats it’s purpose. Accountbound items/currencies are account bound for various gameplay reasons

You will see much more scam than current system.
