I’m new to this game and recently discovered the awesomeness of the Trading Post. When I sell, I always see buyers that are asking for loads of something. I understand why someone in the game might needs loads of Bronze ore, but why would someone be buying 81 Mighty Maces (for the sake of example), a level 14 Warrior weapon? I don’t see the use of having more than 2 at max, let alone for 81 of them.

If you salvage them, you get ore. Depending on the market, it might be cheaper this way than buying the ore directly. IF the weapon is blue or green, you also get Essences of Luck.

It might also be for flipping. Put in a buy order, if it’s more than 15% less than the “retail” price you’ll net a profit by selling it at that price (tp fees add up to 15%).

Well you either divide your cost by 0.85 to get your minimum sell value rounded up or I simply add 20% of your cost to it for a minimum.

Also buying greens and playing the mystic forge slot machine for rares might actually be profitable. Don’t know myself, it’s a market I haven’t looked into.

I did the MF with level 65 greens to get rares to salvage back when greens were dirt cheap but ectos were like 40s ea. You need a level 68 rare for ecto salvaging, but the forge increases the level on whatever you get out of it. At the time people didn’t seem to be very aware of that (or at least didn’t use it in the way that I was using it).

On average it takes 16 greens to make 1 rare (20% chance to upgrade in the forge). Since the intro of luck it hasn’t been worth while.
