Forgive me if I am wrong but… THESE COSTUMES ARE FRIKIN AWESOME!!!
Whilst I love it and would be buying them right now (Mad king looks beastly on my charr) I am rather upset at the same time.

Arena net missed a perfect oppurtunity to sell even more of these by making them transmutable onto armour.

Back in GW1 you could buy the special costumes and you’d be able to play the entire game with them. Kind of a lowblow by Arenanet on this point.
I really wanted to buy a few sets, but not if they are only town clothes =(

Does anyone else feel like this?

Not going to lie, my Charr looks awesome with the mad king outfit on, i would absolutely love to be able to wear this as my armour.

I assume this falls into the category of “Wouldn’t that make it difficult for PVPers to identify their enemy?”

As I am not a PVPer myself I have no idea if armour is something people use. I just run and attack anyone hoping for the best so their armour is a little irrelevant for my personal (lack of) play style so have never been sure how much truth there is to this reason.

I am with you though and think it would be fun to wear them the whole time.

They have shoulders, and I would bet more armor pieces will open up with each act.

Well, they aren’t used in structured pvp, and the CoF gear is just as flashy, if not more, so I can’t say that this would be a valid argument.

But surely CoF gear is still light, medium, heavy? So no matter how flashy there is a distinction.

Also as PvP happens in WvW as well as SPvP it is still an arguement I hear often against this sort of idea.
