Worth picking up a lyssa recipe?
You can use it as a store of value. It’s rare enough that I don’t think prices will collapse any time soon (short of the Pavilion returning and drop rates go way up). However, by now I think it’s safe to say that players who actually WANT the skin will have bought it already. The majority of future demand will just be speculators selling to each other, which means demand will be very low (especially since you still need to fork out a considerable amount of gold to actually MAKE the backpiece afterwards).
If you buy it as an investment, you may be sitting on it for months before selling. It’s your decision if having your gold tied up in something that may not move or rise considerably in price is worth taking the risk on.
As an aside, I also found it extremely amusing that somebody tried to pull the tired old “let’s place thousands of orders at 1c” advertising tactic to falsely increase demand, and prices for the recipe FELL as a result.
From what I’ve heard, this recipe is less desirable than previous ones, so I would not suggest investing in it. However, I am curious about people’s opinions on the monocles and phoenix skins as an investment.

So they show up on main page if put enough offers for 1c? if yes then how many offers you need to put?
more than the other top-demanded items. usually around 2.5 million. which doesn’t even require a bot or macro or anything against their ToS: buy order 250 things, once every 2 seconds (or as fast as you can click) for 5 hours while watching the matrix series and there you go. then it’ll take another 5 hours to remove all the orders when you’re done.
you have to buy order for at least the merchant amount, so it doesn’t work as easily when the item is priced at 2s (it requires 50,000g instead of 250g)
