Hi there,

I’m probably considered to be a power user of the trading post which is why I encounter this problem, but is there any chance the throttle on the speed at which sell orders can be placed could be reduced? I place all my sell orders by hand via the interface and if I ever try to place more than about 20 I start encountering this error.

I’m currently trying to list over 200 items and I know this probably makes me unusual but I’m starting to go a little bit insane with all these “hey there, slow down!” errors.

I assume it’s some sort of anti-botting measure and I don’t think it used to be there on the old trading post, but there’s got to be a less intrusive way to stop bots. This is certainly affecting at least some legit traders on the market.

Anyone agree?

Yes, it’s really annoying. What is it, like 5-7 items before you get the error message?

It feels like before you get it the first time you can sell about 20, but after that you get it really regularly. Must be some sort of cooldown based on how long you waited since the last sell order.

It was there since the beginning, originally Anet said it was a bug, but more recently they’ve called it an anti-bot feature like we thought it was.

It really sucks if you hold onto things during world boss train or other such activities that you accumulate more than a single 20 slot bag worth of TP’able items. By default I can have 5 20 slot bags but I can’t sell more than a single bag worth at once or I have to sit in a corner and count to ten and then the teacher will let me raise my hand again. :P

I think it’s funny that my human speed is comparable to a bot. I also think it’s funny that they’re trying to increase performance for the TP even though they wont let us power trade on it.

I get this error often as well. Though I will say that because the TP v2 sucks so much in some ways, you see this less often. I think that is not a good thing. Basically, the new TP is slower at selling stuff, so you can’t sell as quickly as you used to, which makes it harder to actually sell fast enough to see the error.
my only compliments regarding this is that they made the error message meaningful so that someone who gets it would actually know why they get it.

Actually, Lil Puppy, bots will out-perform you BECAUSE of this crappy “anti-bot” feature. You are limited to selling less than 20 things then you give up. A bot will sell 10 things, wait, sell 10 things, wait, sell 10 things, wait, etc. A bot can sell orders of magnitude more volume than you can. I would of preferred almost any alternative anti-bot measure to this, such as: can’t sell more often than every 2 seconds… limited to 500 sales per day… let the bots do their thing, record all suspicious activity such as >1 sale/second, 1000 sales per day, etc., then investigate and ban them… I will at least thank them for not going with CAPTCHAs.
