Okay so, do women in Tyria simply have no shame whatsoever? Is that what I’m supposed to take away from the armor designs? I mean, come on. Don’t get me wrong, I love boobs as much as the next guy but Mother of Balthazar, there is almost nothing covering the female torso whatsoever.

I like the set, overall, but is it too much to ask for an armor set with at least some level of modesty? I’m seriously asking, is that something we could have at some point? Armor that actually… I don’t know, that would actually serve as armor and provide some level of protection to the general torso area.

Much more people would buy them if these armours a had normal skin instead of this blue something…

Now I’ll have to look at all these smurfs running around.

Wow, they finally add cool Medium armor and they have it change your skin blue? I’d of bought it immediately if it didn’t and showed your normal skin.

I don’t see it as a problem. They need desirable things in the gem shop to entice people to spend money and these are obviously one of the better ideas for that end.

Just the side? I’m a fan of them and all that but … wow, they should leave something to the imagination.

Actually I change my mind on this issue with THESE sets in particular after just seeing them in preview. They look absolutely horrid for any settings under high. I play on auto detect because of my comp and these look real bad. The “blue” looks like lycra (perhaps I am thinking spandex? Dunno lol) as you see next to no muscle definition, you only see that on high res.

I wouldn’t be seen in this gear or wouldn’t even get paid to wear it. The rest apart from the blue is just……..yeah enough said about that. The only part I would ever consider wearing would be the Light helmet and even then it looks more suited for a medium or heavy class.

I think the Light Armor would be absolutely beautiful, if you were able to buy it with the blue part removed and skin showing instead.

If we could get the Light Armor with the Blue Pieces removed, it’d be absolutely awesome. It looks really good other than the blue.

Afraid to say these skins are appalling, not preference, but technically. The original skins are well designed from concept, then done nicely by the 3d team… these cannot be from the same team, it’s like they sacked the art department and have one 3d guy who wings the concept art and spends 10 mins on the 3d.
Many years went into making this great game, Up your game Anet.

Actually if you are male I think they have mixed up the Medium and Light armours. Light looks like engi steampunk and Medium looks like wiz gear……

Love the armor, well besides the whole blue thing. A for effort on being unique, but really find a new armor design director.

Yep, I would actually buy both the Light and med sets (to use some pieces) if they lost the blue and made it just base skin tone.

Heck I would stick that on my female toons, I enjoy being a juvenile pervert.

To me as a Male char the Medium armours look more wizardy and the Light looks more steampunkish. This a bug or oversight guys? If so this is a big boo boo! :P

PS: The bathing suit has more coverage. Painting the skin blue a la Heidi Klum does not take away from the gratuitous cleavage. Was that necessary?

Please make the skin hue with it’s own dye channel and/or with a toggle.

I like the armor, but I dislike the blue haze effect & the part where your details barely show- I should of thought more than twice before buying, the boots are great though

What happens when you mix and match this set with other armour skins? Does your whole character turn blue or just the corresponding body part?

I think the aesthetic is interesting, but I can see why people would like to be able to turn the blue off (or colour it any way we like!)

I’m strangely attracted to the way the medium set looks on females, wish you could dye the blue bits (or do something that makes it look more zodiac).

I agree with you. I think the medium and light armors are backward for the females as well.

My feedback is as follows:
1. Allow the blue areas of the Zodiac armor to be dyed.
2. Remove the facial “skin” on the helm. Some of us don’t like “masks”.
3. Seriously look into whether the medium skin and light skin were reversed. Looking at the armors (for human female) they do seem like they were mis-named.

4. Learn where nipples go, then you can try doing pasties.
5. Have some respect for breasts, please.
6. Where’s the heavy armor? All I see are balloons…

Constructive feedback:

Please reduce the size of the breasts and increase the amount of fabric.

Remove the blue skin entirely.

Do not allow it to be dyed. There will be players walking around with green skins, purple skins, etcetera. Is that consistent with the current artwork in the game?

Would have preferred to see (light) armor that looked more like robes, rather than 2 pieces. And those armors could have had better effects (similar to the glows on the zodiac weapons).

I like the armors, but the Smurf skin look destroys it for me.

I agree with goldenwing. The only reason I said to make the blue dye-able (and not removed entirely) is because the skin would be X-rated on females if it were showing skin where the blue currently is.

I absolutely agree that the Zodiac skin is not at all consistent with the artwork of the game. It just seems misplaced.

I bought it. But I just don’t like it. Now I have to buy new armor to replace it. My mistake.

I don’t see any problems with this. The blue can be imagined as some sore of spandex, if it’s colored as a character skin, then it will be “revealing”. As it is now, the chars looks like they are from Avatar. So the blueish is part of the armor, that covers the body. Even the helm shows it, covers the whole face.

I like the styles of the armors (especially the heavy which gives it a barbarian style to it in a way) however like a lot of others have said, the blue skin really puts me off from buying it. If there was a way to make this armor but change it to show actually skin replacing the blue skin and making it look a bit more humanoid I would buy all three sets in a heartbeat.

Differences in cultures is a funny thing.

What may be shameful for you, wouldn’t be shameful for another; and vice versa. There are cultures – mostly, now, historical I believe – which believe the revealing of the ankle on women was the most shameful body part to reveal. Similarly, showing breasts was common in various cultures.

The whole sexualizing of a woman’s breasts is due to our culture and nothing more, really. But people don’t really see past that, and get stuck in the mental thought of “covering up is modesty; revealing is shamelessness.” Which is just a sad, close-minded view to me.

This said though, this armor set no doubt pushes the bounds more than any other armor set, however, the male’s armor sets are equally revealing and – something I haven’t seen noted in this thread – the revealing holds an aesthetic purpose – you cannot tell so easily with still images, but go preview the armor on any character (non asura/charr would be best – norn, actually, is probably the best) and rotate the character while staring at the blue of the chest. Notice something? Hidden in the “blue skin” is transparency that shows stars (hence the name). Cover up the skin, you lose that effect – so revealing “skin” is not so much an act of making skimpy armor, but to show a cosmic cosmetic effect. Mind you, they should have picked a deeper shade of blue to better show this, as the skin change is meant to reflect the character representing the star constellations themselves much like the weapons do.

Sadly, this effect is also only really apparent on high texture and resolution settings – much like the shading differences of kraitkin between settings.

I changed my Sylvari to blue, that way I match at least. lol

For me personally, the light female zodiac skin is the best armor they’ve come up with since release. I love almost everything about it: the eerie blue haze covering the skin, the accentuated cleavage, intricate armor plating, and symmetry of each part. My only dislike, which is minor, is the coat tail effect on the leggings. Otherwise, I think the artists over at arenanet have outdone themselves.

You’re right, I cannot offer an answer on this. That being said, the reason why the discussion should stay constructive is because I am actively collecting feedback (positive & negative). So. I will put this in my feedback.
