As true as Odin’s spear flies,
There is nowhere to hide.
considering that i’m saving up regular materials for a legendary weapon, ascended crafting is currently out of my reach, and even when i finish i’m not sure i want to spend the coin getting crafting disciplines up to 500, let alone spend the money making the ascended armor. so how about letting us sell things like empyereal(spelling?) fragments, dragonite ore, etc? my bag space would be very thankful as well as my wallet.
So you don’t want to do what thousands of other players have already done, and want the devs to make changes to the game that will benefit you. How does this benefit other players and/or makes for a better game?

it benefits other players by them being able to purchase the required materials. did you read what i posted?
Spiritwood plank, bolt of Damask, Elonial leather square, Deldrimor steel ingot are all tradable and many players make a good bit of coin selling them to those who don’t want to wait to make what they need.
Ascended crafting has been around a while and you’re not the first person to want to make something. Why should Anet change the method they’ve set up after thousands of players have followed it to make their own Ascended gear? They didn’t complain that it’s too much bother to go through.
Again, how does anyone but you benefit? Do the thousands of people who already did what you don’t want to do get their time and money back?
the obvious compromise would be letting us sell Vision Crystals and Lesser Vision Crystals.
basic ingots → mithrillium → deldrimor steel ingot (sellable)
ascended materials → ascended refined → vision crystal (could be sellable)
also, it uses SP and karma, so it isn’t a direct profit thing (people wouldn’t put gazzillions on the TP). furthermore, the price would be controlled because of this (people tend not to make SP items unless they can sell them for at least ~10s/SP, so that guarantees these would not go below 2g)
As someone uninterested in the Ascended process, I certainly wish there were a way for me to dump my bloodstone, dragonite, and the likes. If not directly, through some refinement or even just a downconversion. Eventually it’ll overflow my collection storage.
If you do not have a use for the account bound materials, just delete them. At this point, even if Anet makes them tradable, there are so many players with dozens of stacks of each mat that they would be virtually worthless on the open market.

funny thing is on accounts where players can’t/don’t want to use them they’re even more worthless.
Actually, the funny thing is they continue to stockpile them anyway…
Stop complaining about too much “XXX items”. Anet might actually listen and actually nerf it.
In before legendary armor need 1000 dragonite “brick”

They could have done this a few months ago, but at this point the mats are like karma – without a sink to throw the stuff into, many players have way too much stockpiled. So tying Legendary gear to dragonite etc. would just lead to a small number of players running around in Legendary armor within two days while the rest complain.

And thousands more would benefit by finally being able to craft.
Someone thought it would be a good idea to make players take part in everything in order to craft Ascended weapons and armour, but it’s really not. Would probably have been better to add all three materials to each type of endgame content to encourage people to play more of the stuff they do like. That, or just treat them like normal materials and allow us to sell what we don’t need.

Unless I get the urge to pursue it, it’s most likely what I’ll do once it caps my collections.
Though, if they were to become movable, it doesn’t necessarily have to be a direct hand-off through the TC. They could be converted at a cost — be it skill points, gold, karma, Forge filler items, a partial loss in mats during conversion, or what have you — into an unbound container. When opened, providing the determined number of materials. A partial material loss would cut surplus from stockpiles, and the whole thing would be just another means of stimulating currency flows and sinks.
Just a passing thought.
