black lion chest and gambling

Some people like black lion chests because it’s gambling. Power to them, no?

This is true.

if gambling isn’t for you….avoid it?
it is meant for the people who enjoy gambling and getting the reward…there are skins that you can get that look about the same as the fused weapons from the CoF dungeon….
there are hundreds of skins you can get doing other stuff…just find what you like doing and do it….
for instance there is going to be a jumping puzzle on april 1st(rumored date) that you can do that will allow you to get skins….people who hate jumping puzzles will be mad…so they will avoid it
This is not about giving players who like to gamble something to work for. It’s about Anet taking advantage of those people to line their own pockets.
Gambling addiction is a disability that Anet should not exploit off of.

uhm, last time i looked, Anet is a company…and a company wants profits….
imagine with me, a land in which Anet gives everyone as much gold as they want to buy stuff in the in game store….or a way to get every skin in the game
how much money is anet making…to continue their plans of delivering content every month?
zero
that means NCsoft starts laying people off to cut back on labor
you guys want content, which doesn’t just come out of thin air, but you also want to aim the crosshairs at anet every time they try to make some money
Jordo. The amount of logical fallacies in that post is overwhelming.

thanks :<
i mean, they could just plop it on the gem store as an outright buy….but then everyone who wanted it would get it, and would actually stop a lot of people from trying to get it, because they want to be a special unique snowflake and have an item that not many can get
this way, the lure to pull people in is stronger because…those special snowflakes know many people won’t try to get them due to the RNG part…and will actually go after them harder
who knows, they might add a thing at the end of this, and people who have all the achievements for each part of Frost and Flame, will get a free fused token to use
kinda like the Pact Token when u beat the game
I got my fused token from 10 keys I bought using gold. yeah. Anet robbing us.
we have to do things others may qualify as “evil”.

Nah just lost 200G doing that. I haven’t enough space for that —- boosters already.
Asura thing.
black lion chest are launched – people complain there’s nothing in them worth spending money for keys on.
they add in all the trading post sale items (revive obs, salvage kits, transformation stones) – poeple complain well if i want it i’ll just go to the store stop giving me these chest there still pointless.
they add a unique item to the chest – people complain.
conclusion : They gotta pay the server electricty bill some how. buy buy buy X-D
but seriously, its not as big a gamble as FOTM skins (could have been a random skin in the chest).
Anet saw somethnig key that was underpreforming and so found a way to fix it.
“commander can i have a word”
bought one key – got a token
bought a second one – got nothing. stopped after that and took it for what it is: kitten luck

Maybe you should go after casinos and lottos first, considering they sucker a lot more people and pay out a lot worse than anything a.net could ever dream up.
Also you do realize you can get bl keys for free, right?

Good companies make their customers happy by providing good products at a reasonable price with minimal profit. This insures that the customer is more likely to do repeat business with that company.
When companies start to bleed their customers dry. It only creates a short term increase in profits. Customers wise up and move on to do business with other companies.
When “NCsoft starts laying people”, it will be so their executives can still receive their corporate bonuses.

casinos are required to pay back 75% of the money they take in. But most pay back more “95%”. It keep customers at there casinos and not their competition.

There, fixed that for you. That’s capitalism right there, baby.

This made me smile.

Not in Pennsylvania. I’m not talking about making characters to farm keys, I’m talking about the ones you get from area completion and possibly with your daily. No reason to buy keys other than that since 99% of the things in BL chests suck and the extra 1% aren’t worth real money.

They drop very rarely for area completion/daily for me.

Good companies make their customers happy by providing good products at a reasonable price with minimal profit. This insures that the customer is more likely to do repeat business with that company.
This is also a way to lose customers. When everyone gets what they want, the game becomes stale, and people move on. Why play a game where you’re guaranteed to get whatever you want? There’s no challenge and no prestige in getting stuff.
There is no prestige in luck in anyones eyes, either. Nor is luck a challenge, it is luck, a random chance.
No skill involved. No challenge involved. No prestige involved.
Now that is something that people will want to move away from, guaranteed 100%. Maybe add a +1% for the fun of it.

Just because you were lucky, doesn’t mean everyone else is as lucky.
I know people who got 1~2 tickets from just 5 chests. Meanwhile, I’ve opened over 130 chests and haven’t gotten a single ticket, before I gave up on it and cussed out ANet.
The same applies to people claiming, and saying precursor drop rates are fine when they got 1~2 out of 80 rares. Meanwhile, there are people who has used over 1200 rares (myself included), and has never seen a single one.
So, do us all a favour, and take your smart-alecky comments elsewhere.
