I got a lvl63 soulbound exotic from level up reward. Not sure what to do with it.

Is it possible to toss it with 3 lvl80 exotic for a chance to get precursor?

With 3 level 80 Exotics, the average level of the items is 75.75 ((80+80+80+63)/4) which means that it will qualify for a precursor attempt.

I know that works for rares.

But havn’t heard much information about it for exotic.

I believe: If you threw 4x level 63’s into the forge, you would get a level 68-75 exotic would come out (with a small chance of as low as level 61). It needs to roll a level 80 to have a chance at a precursor, so with that throw it’s impossible. you would have to mix in some higher levels.
1x level 63 + 3x level 80 would have an average level of 75.75, so it would produce a level 80 exotic (with a small chance of as low as level 73), so it would have the greatest chance at a precursor possible.
2x level 63 + 2x level 80 = 71.5 average level, would produce a level 76-80. This could give a precursor, but not as often as the 1x level 63 + 3x level 80’s would.

I think the more relevant question since you added that it was a level up reward is CAN it actually be put into the forge in the first place?

you can put the level up exotic in mystic forge. I tried it.

Why arent these salvageable anyway? I could maybe see why for the Exotic rewards but the greens are soulbound and unsalvageable as well.
