Yeah, that really sounds trustworthy!
Buy gems using paypal and get redirected to that side.
Of course blocked by NoScript so purchase fails.

When will people/companies understand that it’s rude behavior to redirect a user’s browser to whatever URL they feel like? When I connect to *.guildwars2.com or *.paypal.com I want to stay there until I explicitly say otherwise!

Like you do in the UI. No surprise that my browser opens a paypal page. I gave consent.
But not the “fatfoogo/digital-river” crap. Anet, you just lost a significant amount of reputation.

What is this even about?

“Be angry about legendary weapons, sure, but what about the recent drought of content?”

Because we can’t be angry about both?

Yep. Acquired by digital river is what my google search came up with.
So I added an exception to NoScript and was able to purchase the gems.

Still, I think Anet should not teach their users to blindly click, i. e. they should
inform beforehand when you use the gem shop that digital river and/or fatfoogoo
will act on behalf of Anet in the transaction with paypal.
