Someone attempted to jack up the prices of moldy bags but realized that his asking price was too high.

The patch that increased the drop rate of T6 blood, fangs, and totems from bags had just gone live. That patch necessarily drove up the long run price path of heavy moldy bags, which were directly affected by the patch.

What you’re seeing is a combination of a rational increase in price from that change in fundamentals leading to a fast spike from speculation and momentum trading, followed quickly by a crash – the bubble bursting – from the reality that while the price needed to adjust upwards, it didn’t need to move by much.

So that spike really represents someone losing a lot of money.
