Hello everyone I just wanted to ask, should I just buy bifrost from tp as I have enough gold now, or should I craft I only have gift of battle 1million karma and 1700 badges, but nothing apart from that no world completion (how long and boring is this process), please, give a sensible answer as I dont know what to do. Also I have no legendary at all. I am also a big fan of twilight gs should I buy that instead for mesmer?

Thank you for any contributions.

It feels more legendary when you built it your own. Get map completion and craft it. You will be more proud of it.

It’s cheaper to craft it yourself, depending on the value you put on karma and your time that it would take to do world completion, which isn’t really all that bad doing it one time.

If you can afford it, buy it. Don’t listen to those people that project some stupid importance on legendary because they are nothing more than glorified skins. Why isn’t the same importance placed on any other skins, you can buy?

Nothing worthwhile is easy. Buying a bitfrost from TP my seem like it was something that is easy to do. Still earning that much gold is alot of work/money so it is up to you. Making one is cheaper but buying one will enable you to avoid the pve stuff.

You can save quite a bit of gold making it yourself, but I guess it depends on how much time you want to spend on completion (might take weeks depending on your world’s WvW color).

Personally, at that stage, I’ll probably just buy it.

if you can buy it, means you have enough gold to by precursor and all materials, even to lv up crafting to 400 as well. That means the most critical element you can obtain without issue then why don’t build yourself one and be a proud legendary user.

Let the legendary rot on TP.

whats the difference in buying the legendary or buying all mats + precursor in terms of feeling good bout a legendary?

buying is buying so why care?

Buying all mat and precursor =/= buying a legendary.

you cannot buy 200 skill points, you cannot buy clover, you cannot buy gift of battle, you cannot buy… well the list can go on for a lot more, there are still a lot of efforts besides T6 mat and precursor….

sure – but still this give the item not a higher, better status than the other item

there is nothing legendary bout a legendary – its only a word in the tooltip
and how you get it when you want it dont change anything bout it – its just a item, skin – nothing more

Yes, it is a skin, nothing is legendary, but one who craft their own legendary is a journey, no matter buying all T6 and precursor. For me, I looted my dawn and crafted my sunrise and i feel epic after all. Whats matter is the great commitment to craft a legendary; buying a legendary is like buying a gem skin, means nothing.

Craft it if you want to save some money. Buy it if you want it now.

Ignore all the “journey” stuff. Those people would have your farm every material over hundreds of hours.

The ones telling you to buy a legendary out right from the TP, are the people who are flipping them, causing the ridiculous prices.

Make it yourself, you’ll have left over money.

Once you factor in the opportunity cost of the karma, skill points, badges, tokens and map completion(time) it’s not all that ridiculous. Especially the map completion. If you value farming at 10g/hour and map completion takes 40-50 hours that’s an easy 400-500g you could have made.

Probably because no other weapon in the game currently gives you an achievement for equipping one (or more), which also features prominently on your character selection screen alongside world completion etc.

(I’m not saying that does make it any more important than another skin at the end of the day, but the game treats it as such and tries to project this at players.)

OP,
A few months back I pulled The Legend out of the MF. I already had all the clovers, world completion, gift of battle, stacks of T6 mats. etc. All I needed was around 150 unidentified dyes, that I could have easily bought. However, the game-breaker for me were the Arah tokens. No way was going to run that dungeon for the number of tokens I needed, so I sold The Legend.

Regarding which is better, twilight or biofrost for a mesmer, it depends on how you play your mesmer. I run a shatter mesmer exclusively in PvE. Apart from unlocking the skills, I have never used a staff since on my mesmer, I only use greatsword and occasionally sword/focus. I don’t even have a lvl 80 staff for this character.

Regardless of which legendary you want, just buy it. Oh, and doing 100% world completion is a far more ‘epic’ task than crafting a fancy skin …

The only legendary ting about legendary is that you can change its stats.

Arah isn’t even hard.

It is definitely daunting at first, but it is essentially just like every other dungeon, stack + DPS. Just a couple of extra mechanics compared to the other dungeons, which are simple to learn.

Buying a free ride without bothering to do the dungeon even once, is just pathetic.
