It is quite likely that it is for two accounts of family members with some combination of 6 and 6 or 5 and 8.
For example, I have 8 on one account because I wanted to make each class, my son’s account is at the 5 original slots because he specializes in few classes. It’s probably not that unusual.

They just hotfixed this. The animation is perfect now! Please don’t change it anymore, I really like it. Harvest time is good, too.

New animation looks great! Really ‘diggin’ the speed now. :p
i actually really love the speed at which i harvest the nodes. its about 1.5 seconds and the animation is really cool its like an under cut scythe swing then out comes a water sprout. makes me think seeing my warrior use a scythe that way and maybe see my Mesmer use a scythe. but all and all i really glad i spent 20g to get that item.
