I heard of people buying green armor from high level karma vendors and MF’ing it into yellow items to salvage for ecto.

Personally I just trade mine in for Orrian Chest. You get tons of karma back using 65% karma buff (booster/food/guild banner) so with 900k karma I get around 30-40 gold usually, varies on how many good lodestones I get compared to the bad ones.

Now when I say 900k karma, I mean you lose 900k karma, so after opening 900k worth of karma chest, I re-use the karma items and buy more until i’m karma exhausted, so I might actually use around 1.5 karma combined to make that 30-40 gold but the other 700k is free from the chest you already bought with a 65% karma boost.

I think you can get up to 95% karma boost.
Karma Boost – 50%
Ice Cream – 5%
Guild Bonus – 15%
Guild Banner – 10%
Karmic Infusion (ascended necklace) – 15%

You can stack your karma boosts up to 95%. That doesn’t mean, you’ll get 95% karma back from orrian boxes. With the maximum boost, it is about 65-75% of the invested karma.

And to confirm: with a starting karma of 1.000.000 and reinvesting all karma with maximum karma boosts you can expect sellable items worth about 40 Gold plus some obsidian shards.

Just keep in mind, that there currently is this bug with the karma boosts, and use the workaround:

I really really don’t recommend you guys spending your karma. Karma seems easy to accumulate but imagine if Anet releases new items that can be bought, then you’ll be behind
