sell SAB skins now or wait more?
The facts:
-SAB will be returning
-World 1 will be returning
-Moto will be returning
-We don’t know when they will be returning
Make a decision based on that. No one can really give you a straight answer. And even if there was an answer to your question, no one in their right mind would tell it to you in a public domain such as a forum.
You left out a very important fact that Josh Foreman stated it was very unlikely the old skins would return. Kind of relevant I think.
As to the price…OP you need to make your own decision there. Do you think these are going to skyrocket in value somehow? Or that gems will stay the same price?

Even though these things all do return, it was said by Mr. Foreman that the skins we got the first time most likely won’t. I think they intend to bring skins for the weapon categories from world 1, but different ones.
I would wait for SAB to come back, that’s when the skins were at their peak and odds are once new skins drop, people who missed SAB the first time around will want a crack at the old skins and may pay a premium for it.
On the other hand, you are probably 1 of 1000+ people waiting to post their SAB weapons at that time so it may very likely get into an undercutting war and thus less value.
It’s very hard to predict the future value if you don’t know what the supply available actually is. I know I personally have a GS, 1h sword, staff, shield, backpack, and scepter waiting to put up and I’m sure I’m not the only one.
It’s a medical condition, they say its terminal….

I feel this exact same way. That’s about the inventory I have (sans backpack).
The other issue I’m worried about is that Josh might be wrong. He said, at the time, the skins were one time only, but that it wasn’t his decision. Somebody else (most likely higher up) may choose to bring them back, which would mean a completely massive dump of skins, probably GS going to 5-8gold if lucky.

I’m at the point where if I could just break even with the skins I would sell. I was about as dumb as you could be as a new investor. Spent more than I should have and didn’t sell when speculation was high. Now I wish I had my gold back instead of a bunch of skins that may go up in value someday. :\

Josh Foreman says “I’m pretty sure”
Reading comprehension indicates that it is still up in the air and can’t be considered as fact. Also, this is Anet we’re dealing with. The number of times they’ve gone back on their statements/decisions is incredible…
hmm based on what we were given, though nothing hard “confirmed”. i want to say save them until SAB DOES return.
if the old weapon skins, indeed don’t return, i think that will drive up the price of the existing skins when SAB is back and there is more “hype” about the Super skins again. people who missed out the first time will fall in love with the new skins and want the old ones to complete a set, etc etc..
however, if for whatever reason, the old skins DO come back, then the skin prices will drop quite significantly i say.
that’s how i would read it at least. :PP

I would expect the opposite to happen, since god knows how many players have stock piled on those skins waiting to unload them at that time, thinking that demand would spike (which it may, but the even larger supply is there and waiting……).

I farmed mine. 5 quick runs a day
I farmed mine. 5 quick runs a day
RNG favors you then. I ran SAB Z1 & Z2 chests every day across 8 characters and came out with 3 shortbow (i.e. the least valuable :P) skins for my efforts.
I sold my SAB inventory of 5 staves, 2 GS and 5 shields at a significant loss. The GS I lost 40g a piece, the staves about 15-20g and the shields I don’t remember.
I overestimated the number of people who hoarded them.
Oh well. This still doesn’t put a dent into my overall profits on the TP.
NOTE: As long as the skins never return to the game through SAB, the price will always go up. But the opportunity cost and the time it will take to rise is just too large that it’s not worth the wait.

My potential losses won’t be quite that bad. The only skin I really overspent on were the GS ones, but they need to go above 30g/ea. for me to break even after TP fees. Unfortunately, the price of them has stubbornly stuck there since SAB ended.
I should have sold when speculation was high and GS was going for almost 85g, I could have made over double my investment.
