Trading Post
1) Performance has been improved when navigating between sections on the Trading Post.
2) Recently viewed items on the Home tab now show the sell price instead of the buy price.
3) Recently viewed items on the Home tab now show quantities available.
4) My Latest Trades on the Home tab shows whether the transaction was a buy or a sell.
5) My Transactions tab defaults to showing current transactions.
6) Canceling a listing on the My Transactions tab no longer scrolls back to the top of the lists.
7) Projected Profit is now shown in the tooltip when you hover over the Total Price value.
8) The order form now shows 40 listing levels for buys and sells.
9) Edit box sizes on the order form have been increased.

I haven’t tried any of these out, but I wanted to comment on a few of them:
1 sounds handy though I don’t know what they are talking about. hopeful this is regarding it reseting your search when you add another criteria? in which case: yay!
2-4 sounds helpful though I don’t even use these parts so iuno.
I like 5
6 is A.W.E.S.O.M.E. I hope this also means the performance is also improved. (the problem was that it refreshes your orders when you cancel an order, drastically slowing down how quickly you can cancel orders)
7 I hope they didn’t use the old use of ‘projected profit’, because that is not the projected profit, but instead the projected return. ‘projected profit’ would be (total – fee – tax). I expect it will just be the old one of (total – tax), which is good enough to include for people who missed it.
8 is a step in the right direction. would still be useful to expand to infinite if a person needed it.
9 I like the sound of

It’s calculating (total – fee – tax)

While I want to thank them for putting #7 in, I can’t help but feel disappointment. It should be shown all the time, not when people hover over something. I wouldn’t know they added that if I hadn’t read the patch notes (on second read through).
At least we got the projected profit…

For the love of Mike you doubled the number of items yet left the scroll thumb taking 90% of the track while showing 1/8th of the list? How do you expect anyone to use that in a useful manner?

hehe, are you talking about the locator bar on the right of the buy and sell listings windows and how it takes up almost the full height, so there is no visible movement between top and bottom?
I asked google who Mike was. Top results: Mike Jones, Mike Jones, Mike Posner, Mike Jones, Mike Jones, Mike Jones, Mike Jones, Mike Jones, Mike Jones, Mike Rinder. oh, I see Mike Jones released a music album titled ‘who is mike’, which would explain why that exact phrase kept brining him up.

I really like the change that allows us to see projected profit by hovering over the price. Good job, ANet!

6 is indeed awesome. it drastically increased performance there as it just gets rid of that buy order and keeps you where you were instead of refreshing the page and taking you to the top. It still doesn’t add listings if you buy order something while viewing it, but that’s minor.
8 is good, but it’s funny how useless the scroll bar is.

7 as a hover is better than no projected profit at all.

And both taxes now have extra info when hovered over (I believe they didn’t have it previously).

20 level 80s and counting.

The new setup is very good. TP 2.0 is now significantly better than TP 1.0.

There remain a few annoying issues:

  • The search field still can’t fit the full names of items in the game; TP 1.0 could. To find specific items, you still have to abbreviate (“Ber So Wo Sh Bo Ogr” instead of “Berserker’s Soft Wood Short Bow of Ogre Slaying” — the first gets you the exact item at the top, the second does not.)
  • The “Gnashblade” font size in the lists remains substantially smaller than the old TP, making it more difficult to read; the non-Gnashblade icons are too large, so that you don’t get enough listings.
  • There are way too many listings that show up that cannot be fulfilled. ANet should make it easy to discover you own buy offers that are below vendor +18%.
  • The 200 listing limit on buy offers appears to have returned, i.e. I can’t see anything older than two months, so, again, I can’t cancel older orders.
  • When buying or selling, I can’t compare to my existing listings; the old TP did this for sell offers only.
  • When selling, it appears random as to how many items it defaults to sell. Make it all, just one, or exactly half …or give us the option.
  • The buy and sell windows look exactly the same now, so it’s easier than ever to accidentally sell to your own offer or buy a new item, when what you wanted to do was sell an existing one.

While that looks like a lot, the list of things that TP 2.0 does well is longer and includes more important “features.” It takes me far less time to sell stuff now than it did on TP 1.0, it’s easier to find character-specific gear, and I love being able to filter existing buy and sell offers by name, rarity, etc.
