Hey guys so i have like 110g saved up and im planning on leaving the game for a couple months starting april 10th and coming back later on. My qustion is this, should i leave my gold as is? Invest it and trade it in for gems in the hopes of getting more gold when i return (currency exchange) or buy a lot of rares and forge them in the hopes of getting a precursor? My goal here is to profit some way… Any suggestions?

P.s. i know its not a lot of gold but its something

I’d suggest waiting until the blogs that are coming out tomorrow say what they’re going to say. Then, I’d consider maybe (depending on what they tell us) investing in unidentified dye and putting it on the market at a pretty high sell price. If we’re still able to use UIDs for account wide dyes, but they’ll no longer drop in the world, then the remaining supply of UID may dry up before you get back.

Otherwise, I’d suggest any mid-level crafting supplies that you may have on hand be put up for sale at a slightly high price. It looks like the new trait changes are going to make people want to rush to level 80, and some of that’s going to involve crafting. Low level supplies are easy, and we’ll be seeing more and more high level characters getting high level supplies. Mid level, however, may dry up.

Gems seems to keep going up in price, so it is quite likely that the price is even higher in a few months.

You pay 15% taxes both ways, so you need the gem price to rise 30% to break even.

I doubt unid dyes stop dropping. They are used in recipes like crafting The Bifrost.

Best bet is to invest in sigils, cause on 15th of April everyone will be buying more sigils to gear their 2 handed weapons. Sigil of Force is a safe bet.

Which it has since October. But I think we are reaching the point where buyers of gems with cash and selling them for gold are becoming significant enough that it’ll take longer than a few months for the rise in Gems to reach a break even from prices now.

As the OP is just gonna leave a couple of months, gems not gonna cut it then.

I would suggest glacial lodestones as they are cheaper than elonian wine (thought they would have made a much better investment earlier they are still pretty good especially if used in new legendaries?)

Yeah. The market has not broken through the 7 gold ceiling for many months now, which suggests to me that we’ve reached the conversion equilibrium with regards to people willing to buy gems and convert it to gold.

Gemstore items is your best bet. Either the three minis, which are likely to be replaced, or the lovestruck weapons (as tormented skins are bound to crash, too expensive for too long, it’s been an unhealthy cycle thus far).

I agree with Buttercup. Weapon skins like lovestruck is low enough and will probably only go up in a few months

Elaborate Totems were a great investment but now they are average out over 30s. They used to be I think 11S 2 months ago.

They could still go up, especially since they are currently hit by a price wall of only 600 units last I checked. But who knows, maybe it’ll reach 40s. But it’s not worth the risk I think.

Weapon skins are your best bet.

The question concerning skins is, if the new wardrobe system encourages people to go out and buy the ones they dont have yet or consume less because they only need 1 per account now.

I’m actually going to err on the side of “consume less”, the theory being that people who wanted the skins, likely already have them. We may see some increase in demand from fashionistas and completionists who now want to kit out their Wardrobe, but on the whole I think the player market is not going to change their tastes and demands suddenly due to the Wardrobe.
