im tryin to figure out whats tyhe best way to make money or best ways to make money i know little about the game but am lvl 80

The best way to make money is doing something you enjoy. Some things are more efficient than others but if you hate it you aren’t going to be doing it for long.

Here’s some options:

- COF path 1 farming
- Other dungeons
- DE farming
- DE chest farming
- Fractals
- Playing the TP (though if you aren’t good at it you’ll probably lose money)
- Map clearing if you don’t have 100% yet

Some ‘investments’ you can make that cost money now but pay-off later are:
- Leveling Crafting, there’s a few ways to make money with crafting but breaking even on leveling costs takes a while. Crafting more saves you money in the long-term because you can make a lot of things cheaper than you can buy them.
- Leveling alts, a lot of things that are good money are “once per day, per character” so the more characters you have the more you can do them. Leveling a character 1-80 and doing 100% map completion takes me about 70 hours and nets about 40 gold profit if I don’t buy exotics for the alt (about 10 gold if I buy/make full exotics).

Here’s some things to avoid if you want money:

Most of the money I mentioned actually comes from the map completion. Any 70+ zone nets 2 exotics on completion and if you get really lucky one has something like a divinity rune. You also get 40 of some material or another which can bring a nice chunk of change if you get lucky on gossamer or orichalcum.

As I said though, leveling an alt to 80 is really an investment rather than a way to make money. I just figure once an alt is 80 you might as well do map completion on at least the high level zones.

There are only 4 zones that really deliver decent cash on map completion:

Cursed Shore
Malchior’s Leap
Straights of Devastation
Frostgorge Sound

I did this 3 times, each time spending £ on gems to exotic them out.

This time I am move savvy. Loot bosses often, and I now have more than enough to equip my up-and-coming Elementalist.

Play the game, sell your drops. Use sites like GW2Spidy and GW2 Trader to find profitable items you can craft that are in short supply.

Now if you are looking at wanting 1000g, my level 80 only has 40g (I’ve been slowly converting some of it to Gems toward future purchases so I’ve probably made 60g so far in it’s lifetime) then I don’t know other than spending actual money for Gems and then get them converted to gold but that’s an expensive proposition.
