will prices on power cores go back up?
Just remember to not get too greedy! Predicting the maximum price they will sell is pointless and you’d end up holding forever. Pick a nice % return and dump.
Supply and demand. As supply decreases price will increase as a function of demand.

I’m thinking the ‘new shiny’ on the blade back packs has just about worn off.
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

“Signs point to yes” was the answer I got.
I sold today for a nice sum of money. If they can be converted from blade shards they will plummet, if they can’t they will probably rise slowly over the next month or so.

well never tried playing the TP before and everyone in guild chat was making gold so I tried it out. Now im broke. Guess I can go suicide off a cliff somewhere. Unless the price will go back up in a few weeks or months?

As Zudet said, depends on whether they can still be obtained through other means. Right now all we have is speculation on Anet saying don’t throw away your blade shards. They, as far as I know, haven’t said anything about power cores. So if they are still obtainable with the new “Trader” coming soon then they will probably go down even further. If not then there is a good chance it will slowly rise over the next couple of months.
Also, don’t feel bad. Losing money is part of the TP. Money lost is a leason learned

Read some of the other Threads in this subforum. If you were buying them today and trying to flip them for quick gold, you were playing the TP wrong to begin with. The people who made money today had already bought full stacks of power cores at least a week ago.
The core volatility is extreme, I wouldn’t sell until people find the shard vendor….for transparency, I sold mine yesterday morning for just under 3G a piece. I had listed them just as the massive swings were starting to take place.
Usually there is a slow steady creep up of price for event related items over the course of months. Whether or not the same happens for power cores depends on if there is a new source of drops for blades (at the moment the number popping out from the home instance watchwork source isn’t enough).
If there is a new source of blades then quite a few people will decide to craft a second, third or fourth backpiece and the price will climb. Otherwise you will just be relying on people who are still saving up for their t7 mats to then buy the cores, and that probably won’t provide enough demand to push up the price of cores too high.
For the record, I sold all mine for less than 3 gold, so clearly I am an idiot and you should not listen to me.

Blade Shards still drop from Aetherblades (Junction in EOTM) and can be promoted from watchwork sprockets in the mf (hence the price spike of sprockets since yesterday).
