(edited by Naus the Gobbo.5172)
Hello.
I thought I’d make a list of the armour that goes with charr, since a lot of armour doesn’t take the tail into concideration.
I will update this thread as more armour is added to the game, and I would really appreciate it if a dev could sticky this thread so people can get a little overview of gear that works well with the race, since the general impression is that everything clips with charr.
The armour either doesn’t clip at all with the tail, or doesn’t do it to an extent that you will really notice it.
The names are from the wardrobe in the Heart of the Mists, so the names may be different in PvE.

Unfortunately even many of those still suffer from really ugly stretched/contorted textures, etc. Most of the non-clipping medium/light still looks absolutely terrible for this reason.
Heavy is generally pretty decent though.
So armour that actually looks OK:
Med (coat slot):
Light (pants slot):
thus people mostly only play Charr heavies

That’s a good thing to do, so thanks for the work. Keep in mind that lately they are making some stealth changes to armor (specially dungeon ones) so each patch some armors are being fixed. Also, some links with pictures would be great because most people don’t know armor by the names.
I appreciate this
+1
I made a video so you can preview the gear.
can we please get this as a sticky! I think this is extremely valuable for new players. I made the “mistake” of assuming that the clipping issue with my low level med armor would go away as I got to max level… I was quite disappointed to see the near total lack of non-clipping armor.
Medium t3 cultural is pretty good, especially if you want to get away from the trench coat look, and looks great
They should indeed pay their artists to fix each armor set, at least slowly-particularly the culturals (#1 priority-the light T3 would be really nice-a battle mage concept-were it not for o obvious tail clipping) and those ets that people can buy with gems, and then Dungeons and everything else.
I am sure the light T3 was really, really rushed, because it’s such an obvious problem. This is way more important than fixing flame-kissed armor, for instance, since the problem has been real (not a perceived one) from the beginning and never addressed, saved negatively (no offense ANet.) It doesn’t matter that people don’t play Charr characters that much, it’s just the right thing to do, and would add so much polish to the game (though to be fair, who knows if they are planning to fix this eventually, even if they haven’t told us.)
Truth is Charr look amazing on their own (excellent animations and character creation options-their artists really worked hard in making them look awesome) but need tons of specialized treatment regarding wardrobe-very obviously, stretching the armor generally made for pure humanoids just doesn’t cut it.
Thanks for this list, it’s unfortunately extremely useful. I stick with the Arah legs on my female Charr Necro because they’re the one leg armour that actually looks really good on Charr.
I just wish Anet actually cared about Charr armour. At this rate it feels like we’ll never get a fix.

Anet2 has set forth a self fulfilling prophecy for themselves. Charr armour is given a fraction of the care as other races, therefore it is terrible, therefore most players avoid Charr (in a game where the end game was supposed to be cosmetics), therefore fewer players play Charr, therefore improvements to Charr armour will effect the least amout of players, therefore Charr armour is the lowest of the low on their to-do list.
Basically, they made Charr armour kittenty, so most people avoid Charr, therefore they continue to make it even more kittenty.
