Lasts for 8 seconds, has a 4 minute cool down, and the damage it does doesn’t seem worth it to me. I hardly use this skill but am wondering if other people have had success with it?

I personally haven’t had a use for it. It lacks good range or damage or cooldown. For an elite, its pretty terrible.

Tried it in WvW, had little success. Found the Charrzooka alot more viable. (lol, seeing those red splashes, people going down and scattering from the walls is absolutely golden. =3)

Duty is heavier than death.

Artillary Barrage is god-awful. I took it for my first elite on my Engineer because I thought it fit her perfectly, and my god was that a poor decision. Very weak with a ridiculous cooldown and short range. I’d say its tied with Golem Suit for the worst elite in the game. The only way to have success with it is to not use it.

it need to have more power with that long of a cool down probably a knock-down effect for anybody it hits also thats what i think at least

Racials suck. Period. Radiation Field is the only one I have much use for, and half the high end mobs dash out of it as soon as it goes down, so there goes that theory.

What ANet should have done, instead of making racials suck is make them equal to any other trait, elite or non-elite, so that they would’t create a preference. Instead of making them the clear loser, they should have made them all contenders, but not superior. That would have given people more reasons to chose their races effectively.

What ANet should have done, instead of making racials suck is make them equal to any other trait, elite or non-elite, so that they would’t create a preference. Instead of making them the clear loser, they should have made them all contenders, but not superior. That would have given people more reasons to chose their races effectively.

Well that’s untrue, some racials are actualy quite usefull, for instance :
- the Charr Warband support isn’t very tough overall, but they do have utilities worth for you to pick them up. You get an extra cripple and 3 stacks of might from the Melee NPC while the ranged one has a mine with a 4sec Hardknock (and its an AoE).
- The Charrzooka is a pretty strong ranged weapon. The auto attack while weak is more about stacking burning in duration, but you get loads of interupts, and a powerfull AoE.
- The Schrapnel mine is also very good, it is a low cooldown trap with long duration bleeds and 5sec cripple.

I think the race with the worst racial abilities are probably the Norns, sinds transformation abilities are quite broken in this game. And the one with the strongest one are probably the Azuras and Sylvaris, if you exclude the Hazmat Suit of course.

VERY useful racial skill for charr, especially in low levels. Does some considerable damage for a utility skill. I used it quite a bit on my squishies or the like defensively. Even though it later gets replaced, I do find its still quite a boon when starting out. No other racial so far has done so, besides just for kicks or looks.

Absolutely love the Charrzookah in WvW zergfests. Stopped an attack on an outpost/keep almost single handedly with it. They clumped up, and I hit skill 5. People went down or got extremely near to it. They didn’t learn not to clump until the second time I tapped 5. The two others in the outpost with me exploited the crippling damage beautifully.

As for Artillery, only used it once, and that was to escape from a zerg. Planted it in front of me, and ran through it as a zerg chased. Put them all in attack mode and slowed them down enough to get away. PvE wise, I have never, and will never foreseeably, use it.

It definitely needs an overhaul or be replaced by something better. I always imagined that one of the Charr elites could have been a deployable tank of some sort that they could use.

Warband: Not as useful to my Engineer as Supply Drop. Switched it out as soon as I got Supply Drop and haven’t looked back. They’re so soft and squishy.
Charzooka: Worse than my Flamethrower. Better range, but horrible damage. It just can’t compete. An Elite that fails next to a Utility. That’s epic. Epic failure.
Shrapnel Mine: Ugh. I hate mines on general principle, but this one at least has nice conditions with it. I can’t complain about its worthlessness, because I don’t use it, but it suffers from all the same problems that dropping something at my feet always suffers from: The enemy isn’t on fire before they start beating on me.

As for the Norn, I like Summon Wurm, Summon Raven, and I have found the Wolf Transform occasionally (read: HIGHLY SITUATIONAL) useful. I haven’t built my Norn up to the point where he has a lot of skill points to open most of his abilities, so I haven’t tried them all.

Same for my Asura, but like I said, the Radiation Field is about the only one I think I would ever use, and I think Ihave already replaced it with Signets and Glyphs. My Asura is an Elementalist, so that is a big factor.

As I suggested, ALL the racial slot skills and elites should be looked at to bring them in line with, but not superior to, the class skills. They can add flavor without overpowering the class skills, which is why they were weakened in the first place. They can be as good as without making any one race be a goto race for a given class. They really should be adding that across the board fun for people who play a race over a class in this game. Right now, they’re hit or meh.

Absolute worst skill in the game, hands down. The cooldown is ridiculous, with a 450 radius around you the damage might as well be nonexistant unless you stand completely still, the damage is way too low anyways even if it hits something and all the other racial elites has more utility/does more damage(Charrzooka, Summon Powersuit, etc). Heck, every basic utility in the game is better than this “elite skill”. I know racial elites are supposed to be crippled to avoid favorites, but come on.

If you could choose where to put it as AoE within a 900-1200 radius, increase the AoE of the projectiles and reduce the cooldown to anywhere between 60-90s I could foresee some use in it. That, or give it the knockdown it once had to give melee classes something to play around with, though I suspect some might think this to be too powerful considering the amount of projectiles it casts.

the only place I’ve found AB to work at least on par with other elites is when fighting world event bosses that are BIG (fire elemental, shatterer, etc). With their large hitbox you end up nailing them with every shot.
