Guild Wars 2

I played GW2 at my friends house for a while but my video card sucked, but I am getting a new one soon. I came from Runescape, which probably every gamer has either tried or heard of. I played for 8 years so PvE isn’t really my favorite thing but I would like to PvE sometimes.
WvW will probably my number one hobby(this is what me and my friend always play when I’m over at his house.)
I’m currently looking at Rangers and Thieves, I don’t really want a warrior or guardian.
What I want my playstyle to be like- have a ranged fight or attack from a distance then dissappear from the battle and keep attacking them with an arrow here and there then when they find me disappear again and just finish it with melee. I think a pet would be good for this but from what I’ve seen and heard thieves are a great stealth class.

It sounds like you would do better with a thief. Thieves DO use shortbows, so that’s something to keep in mind.

Theif. There’s even a shortbow skill that does something you mention liking, so I would go thief if I were you. Thieves are awesome, and I play one as a main, so I should know.

I’ll pitch in with support for the thief option — they’re the only class I can think of that really excel at the whole popping in and out of combat thing, with the way their stealth mechanic works. It gets all the better when you go 15 points into their Shadow Arts tree and pick up “Infusion of Shadow”. With a dagger off-hand you can basically pop in and out of stealth forever.
