I was reading a thread on this form wend the question of who would win in this war the char or the asura and thought that that debate deserved it’s own thread so here it is

My person option is that the war would be a draw. The char are taxed on many fronts( flame legion, ghosts, separatist humans) and there leadership is divided into 3 groups that do not trust each outer. That said they do have the most militarily prepared race in Tyra.

The asura on the outer hand are not stretched at all ( they only have the inquest) they have a lot of advantages to boot ( gates golems etc) but… They are very abated minded and would have difficulty working together for one cohesive war effort .

If charr and asura went to war the winner would be… somebody else…

Don’t forget that the Asura government is completely inept and ineffectual. They actually leave a lot of their tasks to the Inquest. The Charr Legions, however, are perfectly capable of working together when they have a common goal. Ash would likely guide the Legions toward toppling the Inquest and that would cripple the Asura’s ability to get concensus on anything.

Keep in mind that, if the Asura were on the defensive, they could probably just shut down all waypoints and gates. The Charr would then have to march all the way across Tyria, through the territories of the other races, just to get to Rata Sum. Not to mention the city itself is almost unreachable without gates.

^The Charr do have helicopters for transport now. And shutting down the Asura Gates would hurt the Asura’s capibilities for being offensive as much as it would hurt the Charr. Except the Charr enjoy long marches.

Are we talking about an all out Charr war. Because in GW2 we play in iron legion lands with some support from the other legions. The rest of the charr race reside to the north east of the continent.
