I’m not sure what good it’ll do, but since a lot of us seem to feel strongly about this, it might be enough of a poke to get ArenaNet to look into it.

This is essentially about the poor execution of charr armour: The tail clipping; the horn clipping; the scaling/rigging of armour pieces for charr women; and so on.

i’ll give a +1 for the meaning of the initiative, but using any external website would possibly allow user data profiling and that, considering the number of the hacked account these days, is a quite delicate matter at the moment

They did human armour and everything was an afterthought, or simply thrown in place. The fact that all armour aside from Cultural worn by Sylvari is made of cloth, meanwhile every NPC Sylvari has amazing looking plant armour.

The Charr armour all looks stupid, like 0 effort was put into it, it’s just bigger scaled human armour that doesn’t fit properly. Change.org is a reputable site and although I’d advise not using the same details you use to log in to the game, it is as safe as any site is likely to be.

I won’t sign the petition, but I do agree that Anet seriously needs to take a look at fixing Sylvari and Charr armor to make it better match their culture. They do not need to be wearing long-sleeved human rags designed for a race that doesn’t fit them at all.

Go back to your own concept armor, Anet! Please!

I agree. My female Char armor is always a disappointment. I’ve stopped trying to look cool and have had to settle with “not awful”. That’s really a let down considering the care anet usually takes with aesthetics.

The first rule of any game is not to trust or otherwise get suckered in by concept art.

I agree and that’s the main reason I don’t want to play as a charr. They look so stupid wearing human armour.

Its definitely an important rule that prevents a lot of frustration.

But kitten the concept arts look gorgeous
Im still waiting for the day when my Charr nec gets something else to wear than skirts.
And boots that dont just look like human-boots with holes for the claws in it, but like actual charr boots or the bandages on cleric’s concept art pic.

I dont mind horns clipping through the helm at all, its still better than helmets which simply cut off the horns.

I’ve noticed that my female charr, and my very thin male charr, have a lot less trouble looking good in light armor. This is because they’re slender and don’t have a ton of muscle bulk. The poorly-executed light armor hides muscular bulk, and just makes bigger charr look like fat blobs.

By contrast, it’s much easier to make heavy armor look good on bulky females and average to bulky males—it doesn’t do any favors for a slender charr frame.

And shoulder pads, oh my gosh. They always look horrid, no matter what.

Tail clipping issues make me want to beat my head against the wall. I worked very hard to get my charr elementalist a particular loincloth, but her tail clips through the back of it. When she runs, I have to stare at her tail flop in-and-out, in-and-out, of the fabric in a clipping nightmare.

I don’t like most heavy armors on my charr at all. Only cultural armors looks good on Charr, and “Plated” armor which looks good too. That’s it. Non of the dungeon armors look good on the charr.
You could at least modify common armors for charr so they would look on them nice. What we have with almost all armors it’s far from nice. Except cultural armors.

Well there are a few armors which also look pretty, but not the whole set. Durmand Priory heavy armor looks nice too, but helm is horrible.

The rest looks like it designed not for charr at all.
