Charr Tier 1 armor best looking cultural set?
For heavy, medium and light tier 1 is generally the best of them. Light and medium allow a bit of mix-and-match – heavy just has those floating shoulderpieces that I can’t stand.
Looks great. T1 is indeed the best looking cultural for charr. T3 is completely unappealing. Agreed on the bulky armor; charr look best in full plate with spikes all over it.
Just says tier… neglects to say which armor class… but ofc. no one plays other than heavy charr…. right…
Wait I do.
Tbh I dislike bulky armor and bulky characters in general (no offence meant). That said your charr looks decent.
Assuming this thread is merely about Heavy cultural? If so – I have to cast my order of preference in the following: Tier 2 > Tier 3 > Tier 1
Tier 1 is really not my thing – I can appreciate the spikes, but it’s rather simplistic in appearance and design, and the material’s unusual highly reflective specularity makes it hard to dye, as colors come off as dull and flat. Dyes can make a rather large impact on armor, but there’s only so much you can do with some armors, like this one.
Massive floating shoulders aside, I’m most fond of the Tier 2 set. It’s beautiful full plate, not particularly a fan of the helmet, but I have never found a heavy helmet on Charr that I’ve not kept hidden anyway.
I transmuted it down on making my guardian, and kept her decked out in Legion armor through her journey to 80 – so I have some pretty fond memories with the look. (I’ve switched to a mixed and matched set since hitting 80)
I like the tier 3 set, particularly that it has a ‘layered’ appearance. Shoulders and helm are ones I’d consider actually displaying. But personally for me, I couldn’t see using it as it’s seemingly so very common.
It seems like half the time I see a Charr warrior, he or she is decked out in full tier 3 cultural.
Just my two cents! Don’t be afraid to mix and match and experiment – dyes and unusual armor piece combinations can make for some fantastic looks.
Edit: Popped in some pictures of my guardian and warrior. Guard with T2 cultural + ordinary banded pauldrons. Warrior has Vigil heavy.
For the toast!

only 2 of my charrs have peices of cultural armor
my ele has t2 boots and t3 chest mixing with other parts and my warrior has t3 helm and if i recall… boots personally didn’t like most of the heavy armor and light armor
then again i do prefer mix&matching armor
I have a partial set of medium T3, I didn’t real care for it at first put then I realized the pants give you a tail spike….yeah not ever taking them off now.
@OP Yes. I really love that HUGE bulky feel that set gives. I see t3 heavy and yes, its a sweet looking piece of art. Then someone walks by in that and woah t3 looks like ceremonial paper bikini armor compared to it.
T1 shoulders, are the beast compared to T2 and T3……
I mix and match things on my charr cultural armors…(Heavy armors point of view)
T1 i defenitely got the shoulders, better than armageddon
T2 has a decent tassets, and foot geat imo.
T3 definitely the helm and the gloves are my pick.
How bout ou guys?
I quite like T1 but I’m not too sure about the Helmet.
I don’t like T2 all that much and T3 isn’t bad.
Saying that my Charr is currently in T1 without the helm.
This is what my warrior used to look like. Nowadays he uses the T2 shoulders as they apear less bulky and he doesn’t spear himself in the eye when firing his rifle. I’ve loved the T2 helm ever since I first saw it in beta. It’s the only one that really covers the back of the neck well AND still looks like it affords the user some range of movement.

T2 Chest, boots and Helm ( and now shoulders) T3 Gauntlets and Tasset. Currently toying with the idea of T3 chest but it clips with the tip of the helm and the plunging V collar doesn’t make sense for armor…

Your character looks pretty awesome! I had just remembered I have the HoM sets and even though it’s not at big and bulky, I went with it hoping the HoM heavy set isn’t as common.
I’ve been told o nthe forum my character follows a lot of “Charr cliches” such as the big size, big teeth, horns, black fur, flames etc. but idk, it just seemed fitting and there’s always human characters when I play with others xD. Here’s what he looks like currently
imo t1 looks terrible.
The only good heavy armor on charr is t3…it’s kind of annoying to see every other charr in the same armor though
The shoulders are my absolute favorite of all Heavy armor shoulders… Actually, might be my favorite of all currently available heavy armor-pieces.

Gw2 is a masterpiece at it’s foundation. Content-wise however…
T1 warband shoulders+T2 legion helm or T3 dreadnought helm + T2 legion tassets or CM leggings + Pit Fighter’s Coat (battler) or TA chestpiece, T2 legion coat, or just about any chest piece will do, same with gloves and foot armor. IMO, these are what look best on a charr personally
