Charr language
This is more for Rp purposes, but do the charr have their own language or do they just speak common?
If they had their own language it would probably sound like “Roar rawr grrrrl Ugha” “sniff sniff meowa sup man”
As long as i remember, Charr have spoken common language. But they still have their own letters, or at least in GW1 they had, now i think they write New Tyrian too.
You could probably make up a language solely for RP purposes. Hell, if you define it well enough post it up here for the rest of us to use!
Just keep in mind what kind of sounds you want it to make. Because of the kittenery, Charr language would probably contain a lot of sharp and rough sounds- K’s, Z’s, D’s and so on.
Example: Kranot de utaan ze bressi o de kas. (Gibberish, just an example of how it could look).
They speak common with each other, so I would guess no?
Unless GW goes all Star Trek-y with everyone using an invisible Universal Translator and all the races are actually speaking their own language.
Do you even lift, bro?
Serpent Eyed – actually its called ‘New Krytan’, which is sort of the standard written language used by all the playable races ( made as popular/wide-spread as it is by the Charr themselves, what with the invention of the printing press).
[New Krytan is furthermore just a replacement cipher of written English. Pretty sure its that way across all language versions, simply because all instances of it are in textures, unless Anet went with region-specific textures for those.]
Give Charr armor some more love!
Let us show our spots, stripes, or lack-there-of in style.

If you do consider constructing your own language, I recommend The Language Construction Kit The website (and it’s book, more over) has lots of fascinating linguistic tidbits, providing an interesting read whether your looking to create a simple letter substitution or a full fledged, usable fictional language.
I wonder if Kzin or Kilrathi have a language (fan-crafted)? One figures, like those two, Charr are of feline descent. Thus, the speech mode would probably be rather similar.
Other 80s: Any but Warrior

It sounds a lot like that actually. Hang around where there are pairs of NPCs in the Black Citadel and you can occasionally hear a random audio clip which I could only describe as Charr speaking their native tongue.
Though come to think of it, they must have changed the frequency it happens because I haven’t heard it in a long time….

In gw1 charr hadn’t had any interaction with other races except through warfare and maintained a unique “charr” language. When the durmand priory was established they promoted New Krytan which is basically the trade language now which every race speaks
Circle of Legends [BOLD]
Like many other cultural aspects of the pre-dragonrise charr, with the overthrow of the flame legion the remaining three legions did not have much love for their former culture. Modernly they have abandoned their ancient language, religions, and social forms.
The Krytan language was adopted because it was useful for them to know the language spoken by their enemies, and now it’s useful because everyone else speaks it as a trade language.
The norn and asura both still use their own writing systems amongst themselves, but otherwise New Krytan is the all-encompassing language of Tyria. (barring Elona and Cantha)
