is it just me or does it look absolutely hideous when a charr uses a leap ability, like guard GS #3…..looks ridiculous if you ask me.

Gotta be honest, I don’t use greatsword on guardian so I’m not altogether sure if it’s the same, but the hammer leap and ranger sword/greatsword leaps aren’t exactly graceful. Not distractingly bad though.

I’m not that fond of the running animation either, and it took a while to get used to it. Looks distinctly uncomfortable with the elbows all the way out like that. The other thing that seemed a bit odd was shortbow… because the charr’s tail is flicking at about 150 RPM.

Yeah, there’s a few quirky animations around. You do occasionally see a good one, such as the warrior greatsword charge.

Yep, I agree completely. I made a simliar post about it titled “Graceless Combat Moves”. I don’t understand why nearly all the other races get some nice looking combat moves with their guardians but charr gets clunky, awkward ones. Even #2 and #5 moves look bad!

I get that impression about the animators. Some of the movements are impossible.

Working or not, #2 and #5 both look ineffecient in combat momentum. Actually, the #4 is the only one that doesn’t look terribad. When used correctly, spin movement works quite effectively, and it still looks good. Charr Guardian spin movement doesn’t on either front.

I love the Charr-Smash feel of the Charr animations, and how primal they appear. They aren’t a graceful species, they just want to break bones and crush faces. To each his own, though.
