Charr size and weapon grip.
Yeah, Charr definately need to be taller.
No they don’t, the design of them not being very tall is fine. Their legs are digigrade, so a lot of the height goes into the curve of their paws and the way they stand. They are fine.
You guys misunderstand. It’s not that Charr aren’t tall enough, it’s that the middle option on the character creation slider is very small by Charr standards. All NPC Charr have that slider set quite high, so if you pick anything else you end up being a runt. Average on the slider does not mean average height.
I rerolled my first charr cause his size was WAY to small.
The weapon grip issue drives me nuts. Definitely would like to see that fixed.
I don’t necessarily agree on the height thing, it’s likely that the npc’s are larger just so you can actually click/see one when there are a bunch of other Charr around.
But totally agreed on the weapon holding thing. It’s bugged me since the first beta weekend. Actually, they used to hold it by the pommel all of the time, but it was kind of fixed, now they just hold it by the pommel when they run so it transitions back and forth, kind of jarring.

Why just Charr, then? My Human, Sylvari, and Asura are all average height on the slider and the vast majority of NPCs match up. Probably the same for Norn as well – mine’s a giant and NPCs tend to be a bit shorter, so I’d assume they’re about average. But not so for Charr.
I’ve not noticed this issue with my charr characters however female norn have this problem in spades, I actually thought for a while that I forgot to max out her height like I wanted only to discover that most norn NPCs are actually about max slider height.

Would be nice if Makeover Packages were also available for this game. I have some minor gripes with Charr physique similar to what Vargs said.
Not particularly with the height but with the horn sizes and facial features. I’ve set my horns a little farther away from the end that makes horn size at max and tooth a little bigger from the middle.
Kinda makes you feel weird looking at your CHARRacter during dialogue scenes when it doesn’t look as you intended. (And man NPC Charr seem to have horns set at max size. :| )

I reported this in the second bwe i reluctantly rolled a charr warrior main after i saw it wasnt fixed yet.
So i see this anytime i look at my character while moving hopefully it gets fixed because it makes 99.9% of 1H weapons look silly when you move forward out of combat and it pains me because i just got a Razer Stone Axe and not only is the Handle Shorter than the GW1 version i have to deal with this madness.
also from what i remember this happens with all race using 1hand melee.
It’s not only charr problem, it is the same for most races. If you go for middle or less option, you will be very short, because like 80% npcs you encounter are about max height and players tend to make so too.
For example I made human male with ~70% max height and now he’s almost a midget, compared to all the warrior npcs…
CHARACTER RECUSTOMIZATION TO GEM STORE, please!
that weapon-while-running bug annoys the hell out of me.
My necromancer plays with dagger, my warrior with a sword and it looks just stupid.
Axes look ok tho, if they have a very long shaft.

I would definitely second the option to remake our characters, and would even be willing to pay a (nominal) fee for it. Didn’t realize until about thirty levels in that I had messed up the fur, the spot patterns are all wrong.
I’m very thankful i made my charr short, and i’d make it even shorter so it seems more like i’m really running and not running slow-motion all the time.

Yep. Noticed this too. Probably has something to do with size scaling. Not really an issue but the OCDC in me screams incessantly about it. :|
