Step one. Enter Black Citadel.
Step two. Behold the destructive beauty of the Charr tanks
Step three. Weep.

Anyways, what exactly are these “tanks” called, do they even have a name? And more importantly, do we ever get to see them in action?

Surely these monstruous vehicles should be included in the game eventually, for they are without a doubt the most amazing vehicle in the game, waaay more interesting than any omega golem or vigil airship. If anyone knows what they are called, I’d appreciate it, Ive hunted down almost every charr npc throughout the game that may contain knoledge about their name, but to only to learn that one charr calls his tank “Miss Claws”

Second, there is a single Charr in the Black Citadel that talks about being a race car driver. I’d sure fancy some death race action in steam-powered cars with black powder being used in place of Nitro. Anyone else seeing this as a possible mini-game?

You can see those beauties in action at later personal story missions. You can even use it! (But actually driving them still not possible, sadly.)
And sure, I’d love a Charr deadly tank mini-game. Aim at moving targets, such as dredges, centaurs, risens and shoot the kitten out of them while racing through the ghost herd in Plains of Ashford. (Tanks in your faces, Ascalonians!)

Snap, Im at lvl 70 storyline, but I haven’t seen them being used yet. Now I gotta finish it But does anyone know for sure if these are nameless or have a name? Second, the charr talks about racing in the smaller cars that you see in the war wagon assembly area in the BC, but yeah, operating one of those things would be a delight as a mini-game too.

I think it’s around level 77 for the personal story. Somewhere around there, anyway.

i never saw the big tanks in action, only the smaller ones.

which is said because when i came to fireheart rise i was excited because i imagined that there might be a huge event where you use tanks and all the machine stuff against the flame legion citadel…
but nothing happens there at all, the tanks just stand around

The big question is where to the Charr sit in the smaller tanks. The only room is in the big wheel. I used to joke that they were powered by stuffing ascalonian ghosts into the big wheel and making them run.

There are some self propelled artillery (SPG) that you can shoot (not move around). Their minimum range is near the edge of your maximum draw distance, so they demand teamwork (like any long ranged artillery should). They are pretty awesome, and I wish I could have had a large enough group going events in that map to actually be able to use them to support allies. It looks like they have a lot of potential, but there just needs to be more players around them to make them really fun.

The first two comments on this thread describe my every desire when it comes to the Charr lol. Lets highlight a bit more brutality and crudeness not softness! >:D

There are a number of points in the game where the charr actually describe their tanks as ‘tanks’ – and since it’s a new technology, they may not have come up with individual names. (Mind you, the tanks we actually see fighting are more like armoured cars…)

Considering that they don’t have the historical background of why tanks are called tanks, I suspect this might be a case of Translated For Your Convenience, and the charr name is actually something else…

To those who think Scarlet hate means she’s succeeded as a villain:
People don’t hate Scarlet like Game of Thrones fans hate Joffrey.
They hate her the way Star Wars fans hate Jar Jar Binks.

They do refer to them as War wagons occasionally. And I’m sure in the tank story mission the Charr crews refer to the small 3 wheeler charr tanks as “Chuggers”

I think the big tanks (the charr-headead ones) are called Godkillers somewhere.

Even if not, its an awesome name i will surely use in character anyway.

The small ones which you drive in one of the last story missions are only called “tanks”, though i’d call them trikes or Recon tanks at best.

Then you have those mobile towers, which are called “Siege Engines” i believe and seemingle get used to set up small encampments and haul soldiers with all of their gear to a spot where it hurts.
